Talking What can I get for $800??

So im getting my car back tomorrow, and since it's 2week retirement iv gotten some paychecks. I now just need to know what can i get for $800, besides NOS that is. Should i go for Remus? K&N? What will do the most to increase the performance of the car?
Thanks in Advance

Look in the Performance Products catalog, I think you might be able to get a sport camshaft for about $550.

You will lose low-end response, gain top-end power.

nah, don't get the cam, it wont work very well with the NOS ;-) If straight off performance is all you want, NOS is the only thing you should get, as I imagine that a decent setup would run you at least $800 (remember, you need not only the fogger, but you need a remote valve opener and some way to introduce extra fuel into the system) Id wait untill Adam finishes his turbo project and then dump your 800 plus some surplus into a decent turbo setup....

yeah, well not even 1000 will cover a decent turbo, i mean a NIce Mossleman costs 8k, while a Super cost 5k...and then i have to change the compresstion...i would love to do that, but it's just too expensive.

Thanks

man, you gotta read this thread then Turbo install on my 300E . That will put you in the mid 200s to mid 300s depending on how much boost you want, and the whole thing should cost under 1k.... not a bad deal at all...

I think I'm a party pooper.

I was going to suggest US Savings Bonds. More value to you over a longer time period.

hehehe.... bah.... these cars aren't worth much anyway, I mean, the value of a nice 300E is comparable to a nice Kia... big deal... I never really understood the idea of keeping a car as an investment, I mean, you would be way better off putting the money in a savings account, or just leaving it under your mattress, cause cars are almost always a money losing proposition...

Not much!

There's not much to do to your car for performance with any rational amount of money given what it's worth. The turbos are great, but a very high proportion of the value of your car.

You may want to think about a 1st gear start valve body. It'll make your car a lot snappier off the line and is well within your price range.

why does everybody want to sell their cars? Lets put it this way, adam bought his 420 for $6800... so either it needed fixing, or somebody was an idiot... and then he sold it for 15,500, so either that was its bluebook, or somebody is an idiot... Now, if my car doesn't need fixing, its worth 12k. If I try to sell it tomorrow, im gonna get 12k. My parents paid 40k for it in 1994... so if I sold it... my parents would basically be losing lots of money. So now, should I not put some money into my car to make it faster? I like fast cars... so why not make mine fast? Even if I sold it now, I wouldn't get enough money to buy a decent car... so then why even think along those lines? I say put as much money as you like into your car to make it what you want. If you want a stock vehicle, then you don't need to put any money into your car. If you want your car to be faster, betterlooking, or better handling, don't worry about how much the resale is going to be for your car. You bought it, now enjoy it to its maximum. Indulge yourself a little bit in the things you like, and don't let resale value manage your life.... (If you haven't figured it out already, I view cars as entertainment, not an investment...)

Get a 3.27:1 differential from a 300TE Wagon. I don't have a W124 car, but I think installing this on a 300E drops your 0-60 to low 7's or something. Of course, highway fuel economy will go down a little, and your car will redline in top gear at 125 mph or so. Oh well, in this country, who can drive 125 for much time anyway? (eastern Washington state excepted).

Besides, NOS will eventually F*** up your engine if used excessively. Be careful with this...I've heard too many stories of Acura VTEC engines grenading from NOS. And these engines are built to rev to 8000 plus rpm...
