Anyone know anything about swapping 300E motor for a 300Sl motor?
Hey everyone. What are your thoughts on swapping the m103 from a 92 300E for a m103 24 valve from a 91 300SL. The 24 valve puts out 228 hp versus 177 in the 12 valve, and can be had for less than $700. From what I can tell, the engine's form factor is identical, so it should be a bolt up swap. Any comments, it would seem like the 24valve would be a better starting point for a turbo than the 12. Thanks!

FYI the SL sported an M104 motor...as I understand, the block is similar to the M103, but the head's completely different. Don't know about the electronics; I'm sure someone who knows will chime in
