I haven't read this whole thread, but here is my opinion on the matter. there are those that don't care about speed, but rather luxury, and there are those that care about speed not luxury. if you want both, you are going to have to step up to the big boy toys.

You want easy to modify, cheap, and worn out in a few years, the honda is the way to go.

you want a solid structure built to last and built for the autobahn, you go with benz.

Now thats my opinion. I myself would never buy a honda for my transport. they all look and feel cheap to me. I'd drive a 30 year old diesel benz over a 2003 honda of any kind, because thats just how I am.

Alon

I am sorry, but I believe I have a view on things thats both outside and inside. Yes I agree, you have to do your research to do something to a Benz. Because no one does it. And thats why I'm unique. I have great pride in what I've done in my benz.

Now I've killed SIs before in my benz. They can't keep me on turn, or if I'm doing 80 and just drop it in 3rd and go.....you see their VTECHs scream, but slowly drag off.

Not Only that, I had a class mate that died. In a civic actually. Those cars are light, and not as strong....watch what happens when you loose it and spin and hit a truck or something. I've seen and heard personal members on this forum right about how their cars saved their lives.

I've had my benz since I was 16. After 5 years of trustes abuse (and 90,000 miles later, totalling 150k) I decided to pass the car to my brother...and bought myself a 99 BMW M3.

I'll tell you right of the bat, the quality of the interior, isn't there.

But thats fine, I knew that right of the bat. And I guarantee you, the price of your new Civic SI, I coudl find a 95 BMW M3 in a stick. You gime 2k and I give you 2k. I'd kill you.

And when you are doing 120 mph, tell me if you feel safe. You shouldn't cause that car is so light, all that winds is just waiting for you to float. So get those crazy wings and body kits, it don't help your weight factor.

You say handling is better. No its not, it just doesn't have weight to move. So put 2 friends in it, and tell me if the dynamics of the car change?

I'm not bashing, just saying you come off very immature. I am 21. I work for my car. Yes this benz was passed on to me, and I had the option of selling it and getting something for its price, or keeping it. I kept it.

Tell me with your civic si, what do you plan to do? Race it. Be original? Why don' tI see Civic SI in the touring cup, but see nothing but S4 and M3s. Gratned, I even started seeing afew C32s.

The fact you can't afford a newer german car that is quicker, is the reason you got a Civic SI. But that doesn't give you the right to bash a brand, by and older example. Let me get a mid 80s honda and see how much of a POS it is. I could probably pick one up selling my exhaust off my 190E.

Yes so I too have bought another car, a BMW. But I'm not going to compare things that can't be compared. I have an M3, and am proud to say I still have a Benz.

Take the effort into becoming who you are. If your trying to make your civic faster, don't. You should have just bought a WRX. At least they have some class to them in their technology. And 4wd. Whoever says a FWD hanles awesome has to be on crack.

I was 16 once guys...but never this dumb.

i find it almost completely unbelievable that a mercedes owner would demote himself to a honda. i'm all for having a pocket rocket... as long as it has a VW symbol on the front....

your honda may be quick, and agile... and you may be able to wipe the floor with us 124's and 201's but just be weary of the day you roll up on what you think is a dinky little beetle, jetta, or golf... and you find out the hard way that it's a 1.8t pushing 20psi of boost....

you see with all the money that ricers spend on dvd screens and body kits, VW guys spend that money making the car a stealth fighter... you'll never see it coming... no farty exhaust, or tacky wings... just plenty of go.

btw, when that day comes, i'll be in the far right lane cruising at a 125k/h in leather upholstered comfort w/all the amenities, laughing at the thrashing that the VW gave your little v-tech. good luck with those roll up windows.

hehe pooh pooh to all of you of little faith in the iron block inline. I have no qualms about taking on Civic SIs, they will always pull ahead 0-60, but after that, its Benz territory. To this date I haven't lost a duel with an SI.

And you know, just to add to the pile of totally absurd ranting that has been going on, I haven't heard any rap songs mention a Civic. Everyone is always flossing in their E-class benz, or as Juvenile put it, or was it turk? Oh I don't know, im not ghetto enough, but anyway, "Mercedes v-14, I know you can't believe that..." hehehe

true true true true...
no one pimps in a civic si
hehehehehe
besides....after time, the cloth fades,
the plastic stuff breaks
the engine begins to rattle and hum and idles like crap...
and then what do you got ...
another civic about to go kaputz...
funny thing is 20 years from now, i'll still get people saying "oooh pretty car!!!"

will civic owners hear that?
no because by the time you're 39 (19 + 20), one would hope you'd get rid of the ridiculous wing, the neon lit crap, stupid stickers associating you with companies who could care less who you are or what's in your car, and then what do you have???

mine will be a classic...
oh and a pretty car....
running strong with 300,000+ on the speedo!!!!

honestly 0-60 doesn't even wipe a 300E on the floor at 7.1 vs. 7.5 and after 60 it's a whole other story anyways.
