Suspension:

H&R lowering springs, front and rear, produce a 2cm drop in front and 3cm drop in rear.

Bilstein Sport shocks in front. Stock hydropneumatic self-leveling shocks in rear, adjusted to lower ride height.

Front wheel camber adjusted to -1.4 degrees. Rear wheel camber adjusted to -2.7 degrees.

Here's a couple of shots I just took for you. Sorry, the car's a little dirty. Anyway, H&R springs, Bilstein Sports front, stock hydro rear, KMAC kit in the rear, slotted housings in the front. I am running -1 deg. all the way around which is right @ spec. I'm very happy with the results. I don't track this car but if I ever wanted to, it's easily adjustable. Good luck! It's worth it.

What are you using as the "wheel mats' in the picture? Where can I find this?

Thanks! The mats are the runners used to ease foot pain when you stand all day. They are gray, dense foam & Home depot sells the stuff by the linear foot. It's not cheap at about $ 2.49 a foot but it works great & keeps the paint from lifting when you pull in with hot tires.

WOW! Your right that is not cheap.
Did you put adhesive on the back to make it stay or does it do it naturally? Do you have to change it often or is it pretty tough?

I know what you mean about the hot tires. I keep looking at my garage floor with all it marks and especially since I got the S-03 it been worse.

Yeah, it cost me about $ 400.00 if I remember right. It stays down on it's own. I have had it for 14 months & no problems so far. It's pretty tough stuff and it beats repainting your floor every couple of years.

Kmac Rear Camber units

Jay,
I'm thinking about ordering a set from a member/dealer and was wonding how you like them. Was the installation pretty straight forward. I've replaced part of the 5 link rear suspension and the rear hub bearings so I hope its no more difficult.

It's anthracite gray with a slightly lighter color on the lowers. Albert, the KMAC kit was no big deal on the install & made a big difference in my rear camber settings.

Here i my set up.

Koni adjustable sport chocks in from with HR coil springs
stock shocks in rears. #2 spring pads in front #1 in rear.
The H&R coil springs are a progressive rate as mention. I just like a more firmer ride. So I want to get the competiton style springs. I raised my friends 500E today. It has 19's so it was scpring pretty bad in the front. I raise it from #1 to #3 in front alot better ride. He has bilstein sports in front with H&R's it rides pretty nice.

I service Daesun's car his is real clean. He is waiting to put some wheels on it. did you find an yet?

Later Guido

To compare ride height measurements, have any of you measured the distance from the bottom of the fender lips to the center of the wheel (star cap)? I like something around 13.75-14.0 inches, any lower looks great but you can have problems scraping the airdam entering parking lots with deep gutters. Or worse yet, you can clobber the lower radiator support on concrete curbs if you're not really careful! I had my car at 13.25 for a while and just raised it up, so far I like it better (although it doesn't look quite as cool now that it's not slammed). The ride is less harsh too since it's not almost sitting on the strut shaft bumper. FYI, stock 124 height is 15.0-15.5 inches for most models except Sportline, although I'm not sure where a stock 500E sits... maybe 14.0-14.5??

So what ride heights are y'all running at as measured like that?

Regards,

What's up, Guido. Thanks for the compliment, but I think it's time for a serious detail (I'm never satisfied). I just got my BergWerks first gear start installed about a week ago, the car's a lot more fun now. How's yours running? Wheels will have to wait, as I'm in the process of buying a home (in PV, so I'll keep bringing my car to you). In fact, when I bring in her in for my next service, there's a few things I'd like you to look at.
