You can make the 124 bar fit on a 16V but...
Here's my recent experience Front bar is too long - need to trim 20mm from each end OD of inner bushings is larger than 16V - need new leaf spring brackets. W124 brackets are too wide. They can be trimmed too. Late 190 2.6 brackets should work. 22mm end of sportline bar is not the same 22 mm as 16V bar!? - need sportline outside bushings too Outside bushings line up exactly with the step in diameter of the W124 bar - unacceptable to me The rear W201 bars have an offset to clear something while W124 bars are straight between the 2 mounting bushings. I don't know what the interference may be but... There is an 18mm W201 rear bar for Evo models. How do the Eibach bars fit? Does the front require flipping the leaf spring/mounting brackets? Could you post or send pics? |

Check with mercedesshop sponsor Phil at Fastlane (888-333-4642) or, if he doesn't have the 190E parts, Tom Hanson at Cailber Motors (800-252-6877).
I had the front suspension my daughter's 190E 2.6 Limited Edition with Factory Sportline renewed -- the front springs and strut had 202 part numbers while the ball joint, lower arm bushing kit and both swaybar bushings had 124 part numbers -- while I did not renew the swaybars, the bushing number would imply that the swaybar is the same for the 190E Sportline and the 300E Sportline, but Phil or Tom can answer the question for sure. They would also know whether the later Sportline would work for the earlier 16v.
