Could i know the cost breakdown for the interior CF parts you did? I have been wanting something like that for the interior of my car...replace all the wood with CF, the do a custom dye job on the leather in it.

co$t

Unfortunately, I cannot break down my costs; I have been working on this project with Thomas Queen for over
1 year, thus far (this is a work still in progress), and I do not have a "price list," per se. Rather, I merely have been
paying here and there as parts have trickled in.

My ballpark guess would be that I have spent close to $2500 USD on my comprehensive c-f mods.

Ok, thank you for the responce, I just thought I would ask

I have wanted to do something similar to my 300e, carbon fiber all the wood of the car, and then do a red/black color combo for the leather and carpet.

By any chance do you know anyone who does brushed aluminum layups? it would be nice to have aluminum instead of the wood as well...

I am sorry but I do not; perhaps Madera Concepts can refer you to someone, though.

Question

Scott,

Something has puzzled me for a while about this thread. If Feather Carbon created a mold for the airbox, why do we need to send an airbox to them?

In doing many of your pieces, I would expect that you created a c-f cover and not a reproduction of the part itself with all the mounting tabs/clps etc...

Were there some that are replacements vs. just covers?

Thanks for the info.

answer to airbox question

Bryan,

Although the "upper receiver" portion of the (new) airbox is, indeed, 100% carbon-fiber, the original airbox upper is needed to provide the base/mounting-point, due to its clips, et cetera.
