Amg 190e-16

So, I have a chance to buy a 1987 AMG 190e 2.3-16....it needs the AMG panels on the driver rear door & over that rear quarterpanel wheel well....seems to run very good but was banged in side...AMGdriver door panel okay & AMG rocker panel off car but appears to be okay....
...can I get the panels I'd need?
...&, what's hse worth?

Check out 190Rev for more info on the 190E 2.5 16Valve.

Regards,

Don

P.S. Does your car have any AMG logos on it?

No, & maybe I just showed my ignorance....I own a '91 regular 190E & a '82 380SL & am interested in this car...where should the AMG emblems be located? Did MB themselves do all the work on these cars?

I think that the first Factory AMG MB collaberation was the C36. The 16 Valve, Evolution, Evolution II were made by MB in house.

Even so, I don't doubt that AMG modified a 2.5 16 Valve.

I was wondering if maybe this is what you had...

Regards,

Don

Awsome car when it is in good condition. What is the mileage on it? If it has under 150,000 miles it sounds like it is worth between 4 and 5K, I wouldn't pay much more because the work and parts may run you anywhere from 1 to 2k. The car is well worth $7,000 when all is said and done, it is a very nice, very fast, and beautiful car.

The most expensive Mercedes is a cheap Mercedes. Find the best one you can.

This car is not an AMG model. AMG hooked up with mercedes in the early 90s for the first time, but AMG did help with the EVO II and campaigned it for races. try glen@tokuhara.net he has a bodykit for sale for this car and i think so does sscoupes@aol.com

AMG did modified the 2.5-16v engine: they use to offer a "AMG power pack" on the Evolution I. The modification from AMG made the engine 30hp powerful

Not to mention that AMG were the ones who developped the DTM Race cars which included: the 190E 2.5-16v, the Evo I and Evo II (everything from chassis to the engine)

Maybe so, but the EVOI, EVOII and 2.5 16 Valve were never available in the US. What is being discussed here is just a plain ol 16 valve, which AMG had nothing to do with.

The AMG powerpack option is super rare and was never available in the US

Actually AMG modified the 2.6 by stoking it to 3.2l, I believe it was available in 1990-1992. Never heard of a 2.3l AMG 190 though, maybe this was a special project. I have the AMG German lit and it only talks about the 3.2l M103
