supercharging 300E

Does anyone have any info. on supercharging for a 300E engine ? I would also be interested in turbocharging but prefer supercharging.
What about headers, intakes, injector upgrades, or computer chip upgrades ?
Thanks
Robert Davis

hehe, welcome to the board. Im sorry to say, but the 300E is pretty much a performance dead end. No big company makes headers or intakes for the m103 engined 300Es, injector upgrades aren't around, and the 103s engine manegment is too basic to benefit from a chip upgrade. Mosselman makes a bi-turbo kit for the benz, but it will run about 7k installed, and nets only about 265 hp. Turbo install on my 300E That is a link to a very informative thread on turbocharging your benz. So far, it seems that a td05 turbo is the best/cheapest way to add some ooomph to the car. I plan on installing one as soon as I can get enough vacation time. Good luck!

Turbo kits

Hopefully I will get a permanent shop soon. I can start making turbo kits for M102, M103 & M104 engines. seems to be quite a lot of interest. But I will make the kits DIY at first. I already have Turbo exhaust manifolds in the works for M102 & M103 engines.
Hopefully I will get them in soon. Cost is about $400 for the M102 and $525 for the M103 both made of Cast iron.
Expect some news about April 2003.

How much hp are you looking to produce out of this turbo and how much boost do you expect to run? I'm interested in buying the kit when you come out with it, how much?

In the beginning there will be no kit. I will just sell the exhaust manifold and some parts. Since the runs on the manifolds will be low in terms of quantity it may be about $500 to 600 for a Cast Iron manifold. It will accept the t3 turbine housing. It will also have a mounting flange for the turbonectics wastegate.
Basically you will have to do your own fabrication.

This is the BASIC cost estimation: $2500 avg.

Exhaust manifold: $600
Turbocharger: $750
Downpipe: $100
Intake Piping & couplers: $140
Intercooler: $200 to 400 (air-water $600)
Air Flow meter adapter: $40-60
Fuel Enrichment: $175
Turbo Oil supply and drain: $80

individual results may vary.

Since I'm in your "timezone" and have an 8V, drop me a note when you're up and running.
