Question 1969 230 modifications...

Hey guys. I gotta say that I have only checked out this forum today, and already I feel like I know you guys. You all seem like really cool people. I hope you can help me out with this. I have a 1969 230 and I wanna put some mods on it. I thinking of lowering it and changing the exhaust and maybe putting some performance parts in the engine. I know it's probably not made to race, but I'd love to get some more power out of it. Also, does anyone have any suggestions on what should be done to it before I start the mods or just what kind of mods I should put on it? Money isn't an issue. That's not to say that I have it, but if you guys reccomend a part that's out of my price range then I'll just save up. I really wanna put in only the best, but I don't wanna get ripped off. I suppose that's everybody's goal, though. Anyways, I'm taking up your time, so I'll end this. Thanks for helping me out guys. Peace.

That engine is anemic! Might try swapping a M130 engine 3.0L from a 1971 OR 1972 car. They put out about 40 more HP than that 2.3 engine.

I read one time that years ago, someone produced an aftermarket supercharger---bolt on---kit. I know I read this, but finding one would be difficult. It would probably be easier to fabricate one rather than find an old one.

MB DOC is right on the money....That is an anemic engine.

Do you have to keep it original, or could we possibly install a c230 compressor engine in or something?

I am currently doing an engine install/ power upgrade in a 230 G-wagen....I could always do this for you if you live near or could send the car to GA.

Hey thanks for the offer, but I'm up in BC, so it may be a little too far to go. An M130 3.0L or a C230 Kompressor might be nice. How much would an engine like that cost? It doesn't have to be original at all. I was actually planning on switching a lot of parts on it. The only thing is that this car is in fairly good shape, so it may be a shame to do too much to it. Also, depending on the cost of the engine and the installation it maybe be easier just to buy another older Benz with more power. If you guys can think of another Benz with some kick that I could get for cheap, then I'd love to know. Personally, I'd rather go with a pre-1990's sedan. Also, the bigger the better. The car would almost solely be used for cruising, but it'd be nice to know I could take some unsuspecting sucker in a Honda Civic or Chevy Cavalier on the highway.

Hey here's a crazy idea: Is there any way, any way at all, that I could shove a Dodge Viper V-10 or a Ferrari V-12 engine in there? I heard that you can buy a brand new Dodge Viper engine and get it delivered from the company in a large crate to your house or wherever you want it for some $10,000 US. I highly doubt I could do it, but just a thought...
