I'd be very happy to give them a call and find out if they deliver in the US and at what prices.

I'd need the exact geographical location of anyone interested though, so I can get a quote on shipping...

Update!

So I just called Göckel and spoke with a very helpful and competent man. He really knew all the products by hearth, I'm saying it because it's quite rare nowadays...

Anyways, here's the info I could gather regarding the front-lip for our beloved 124036 :

The part number is 12400158
cost including german taxes is 200 Euros, approx 200$

There are no modifications whatsoever to the original spoiler, the add-on lip is simply glued on. Approx 1-2 hours in the bodyshop.

The part can be painted for 70$ in all the existing Mercedes colors. Since there is no screwing or welding required for installation, he said it's perfectly acceptable for them to ship the parts already painted.

Göckel will definitely ship to the US but they need zip numbers to give exact quotes on shipping. He said that costs in the 150 to 200$ should be in the range, but with no guarantee, as some parts of the states cost more than others. The part itself is not that heavy but it's big and packaging and insurance costs a bundle.

They will not accept credit cards, the only way to pay them is to make a transfer into their bank account with no charges to them.

Finally, they will gladly respond to e-mail sent to them from the US, they were processing one at the time of my call, but it just takes them a bit longer obviously.

I will gladly inquire again if any of you needs additional information.

Jim,

You're going to love Interlaken. It's not too far away from Geneva, about three hours, but finding the time is gonna be the problem though, as I have a busy month of February ahead of me...I'm moving into my very first appartement on the first and a week in the sun of the Maldives with my girlfriend as well Let me know when you're going to be here, I'm real sorry but I just can't make any promises as of now, except if you should come to Geneva, I could make you discover a dish called Charbonnade, which we could wash down with some Gamay But anyways let me know when you come and how long you're staying.

E DREAM,

I couldn't get an exact quote on shipping to D.C., but if you give me your postal zip number I can find out for you the exact figure.
I'd guess approx 200$

I guess I'm curious why any of you guys would spend hundreds of dollars for the lip add-on? Don't you have a charity or something you could send the money to?

Yikes Tom, is that a put-down or are you trying to steer this thread towards a philisophical discussion on the nature of man?

Exclamation Let's calm ourselves!

Let's play nice, compadres - the reason we all participate here is our common respect for the 500E500, so let's not get into any mudslinging or taking of the "high road" with the intent of belittling our brethren - to each his own, and FWIW if you want to add a replacement carbon-fibre body shell to your 124.036, then GO FOR IT!

Peace, my friends

Carbon-fibre Ferrari = cool

Carbon-fibre fuse cover = borderline gay

As I said...to each his own.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'll trade you a translation for one of your famous, grilled BBQ offerings...

Apoloogies to anyone who took offense to my post. I guess I'm a "function over form" guy, meaning I appreciate performance mods over style-mods. But then, I dress rather boringly, too.
