380SL power enhancement

trade it in on a 450 or 560SL. Seriously, I'm not aware of an inexpensive method for making any substantial power gains. The 380 engine was a way for MB to improve mileage and continue selling the Panzer Wagen througout the 80's.

My Mech. works with EIS in Portland, OR on a head upgrade that yeilds great increases in power, but at substantial expense.

For the cost of those upgrades, you could probably find a better car with a bigger engine.

Good Luck!

Find a good used 420SEL motor & swap it into the SL! That should give you 40HP mor. OR even better swap a 1984-85 500SEL engine.
