It looks like some of these Japanese wagons beat me to it. However, I don't see any with a C36 engine. . .

Cardude/All,
That's the 1 and only (I think) E500T!! That car is simply too cool-kinda like what the offspring of my 2 cars would look like if they mated

OMG the pics that Cardude put of look totally awesome! Talk about the ultimate sleeper. I wonder if the engine has any major upgrades?
Neil, are you going to attend Alon's GTG in February, I'd love to meet and chat 500E's and learn more about your monster wagon. Those wheels on the E60 Wagon look really nice, really updates the look of the car.

I can't find the ShopForum thread where this was discussed, but this E500 wagon is a mating of a wagon rear-clip to an E500.
So it has all the 500E internals except the 23-gallon gas-tank. IMHO, grafting the wagon's rear clip and doors is the ONLY way to do it right. If you did it the other way (500E engine, tranny, electronics, and suspension into a W124 wagon), you'd have to relocate the battery and electronics, split the frame rails, modify the firewall, widen the tranny tunnel, switch out the rear subframe, plus numerous cosmetic and electronic changes. I've got a call into Brabus about my bumper working with the 500E fenders. Also, maybe being flared & wide doesn't keep with the "sleeper effect" . . . :-) neil 1988 360TE AMG 1993 500E |

Neil,
Im glad he didnt have a trailer ball hitch on the back too, that would have taken out the C36 motor. Just get back to where you were before the accident. It is very hard to talk them into buying you upgraded stuff like 500E fenders, etc. However it would be really nice to bring it back to where it was with all OEM parts. Sometimes its better to selfinsure your car, meaning dont turn the claim in and do it all yourself. Beverly Hills Coach craft is very good. Austin

Neil,
I just bought Stu's E - class Bible; I'm assuming it's your wagon featured in the transplant section? I'm glad the insurance thing is working out for you. Tom 92 500E |
