tire specs smecs

Its all about prefernce. What kind of comfort do you like.
The gas flap is only good for oem specs. I have 18X8.5 frs 18X9.5 rears tire specs change. Like mike said. A all around good number is in the 30's. I run 31 in the fronts and 34 in the rear. I drive lets say more than just moderately. So even the the specs on the tire say 44 If i drive it hard all the time through the canyons as I do. I would have alot of tire expansion from heat. I tried it the damn thing rode like a tank after that. So this is my 2 cents. Remember. The car was design for 16's only by MB and porsche. So if you had the OEM wheels by all means stick to those gas flap specs otherwise its a crapshoot.
So what works for me is those settings 31 and 34.

bye bye

I figured they might have figured it out for the Limited

I look at the 1994 E500 Limited and the 1994 E500 as pretty similar cars as I have the same rims I figured the pressures might be the same.

What tires came stock on the E500 Limited? The stock rims were the evoII speedlines.

I will say that I had a E500 with stock rims and tires and the Evo II Speedlines and the Michelins literally transformed the car.

Mercedes recommends 30-36psi in front and 36-41psi in the rear.

Pressure differences between the E500 Limited and the E500

A tire is a sort of micro suspension for the car- I was wondering if there were any suspension differences between the Limited and the regular E500.

Also doesn't air pressure differ from tire model to tire model? If for instance the rubber is a different durometer- or perhaps the siping or tred pattern on the tire makes the rubber act softer or firmer- couldn't that affect the pressures?

It is interesting that the pressures recommended for the E500 and the E500 limited are so different- and I know the rim size must have something to do with this. Is it because the driving habits are assumed to be different or because the E500 Limited was not intended for importation to the USA and only for Switerland- and the road types and expecting driving patterens would be different?

I felt that my car felt a little heavy in the handleing with 32 psi.

I feel like I might be flogging a dead cat- but I just want to know the reasoning behind this.

I like a more neutral feeling, so on 245/45R17 front and 275/40R17 rear (Kumho ECSTAs), I'm running 34 (front) and 37 (rear).

My wife drives the car more often, and she doesn't mind.
