Thanks Austin, looks like I'm gonna need some luck
I placed an order two weeks ago with Recaro dealer PAR Porsche that also sells through eBay. So far, they haven't confirmed my order or answered any emails! Willie: please note the measurements for Recaro seats that you've posted are not the overall dimensions but rather are for the "inside" seating space. Recaro has done a very poor job of providing complete info on their seat sizes and weights. Giancarlo: remember if you're looking at the SRD that there are two versions...one with a bottom cutout for an anti-sub belt and another without. You might want to get the one with a cutout at $50 more to maximize the uses for the seat.

Dean,
Sorry, that wasn't clear. I guess that's the point I was trying to make, is that, it's quite narrow and may not be acceptable to most people. |

Do any of you know if W201 seats are a direct bolt for a W124? Just connected with someone who has the highly bolstered W201 Recaro seats available for sale and was thinking of putting them into my W124.
Also: you guys who have the aftermarket seats - don't you miss your armrest (at least while driving off track?) - anyone ever rig some sort of aftermarket armrest? |

Update: As Willie suggested, the Recaro SPG's proved too narrow for my wife's, ahhh, rear end! :p In the interests of marital harmony they have gone to be replaced with more "friendly" seats. Luckily, any of the Recaro bottom-mount seats (and Corbeau too) will fit the Wedge Engineering adapters. I'm now considering the SRD model which is available with slots for full racing harness.

Hey n2s,
question...what do you do with all your seat electronics once it is disconnected? I assume there are wires running for the seat heater and the power seats...is takin' out the stock seats a pain? Are you goin' to keep these sports seats on ur car and just leave the stock in the garage most of the time, or just for the big race?

Duck...the Wedge adapter retains the base power adjustments. The wires for the seat heater and backrest/headrest adjustments are disconnected. The factory seat connections simply unplug...very easy job.
I'll probably enjoy the racing seats for the summer and return the stock seats come fall (want toasted buns ). I'm gonna have the leather re-dyed in spots while they're out cause some wear is showing on the side bolsters. I believe the Recaro SRD seats have removable center inserts. Maybe they can be covered in matching leather....hmmmmm

Oh shes your copilot. I see, well dean, buy the seat that fits you best, and buy her the one that fits her the best, sometimes they make wider models, get something that looks really close.
It is probably better to find something that you both like so they match and someone says how come your passenger seat is so big, and then it might hurt your wifes feelings, so id just find something you both like, for fit and everything.

Thanks for the advice Austin. After 27 years of marriage, I've learned that making the wife happy first will make me happy later!
BTW, thanks for the list of magazine articles you have. I've got all of the 500E500 articles and really don't want to branch out to other models except the Hammer (cause I consider it to be the 036's daddy).

27 years, WOW, you know your wife the best. Do what pleases her.
You are welcome. That was mainly for me to keep track of what magazines I have and which ones Id like to have. The AMG HAMMER articles in there I thought you'd like the updated list because some of them I think you didnt have.
