I think Mika Hakinnin and David Coulthard would strongly disagree with you.

Most definately not the fastest MB, maybe the fastest kit-car, or replica...but definately not an MB. Although, it does look good.

There are only 3 fastest MBs.

First two are from Brabus. The EV12 and EV12T(yap, you guess it, the E-Class wagon).

And the other is from Renntech, I forget the exact name for it, but it has 7.3L V12 in it. I believe one of the magazine(either C&D or Motor Trend) has tested one.....

Since my only non-mercedes toy is a 427sc cobra replica, I have some knowledge of the subject..and that SLR-type vehicle is definately NOT the fastest kit car around. Kit car magazine hosts an annual drag race/roadrace/solo event (at Gateway Int'l in ST. Louis the last 2 years) and not only has that car not won any of those events, but I never even saw one there. Remember, high HP numbers sound impressive but, you need to have a well balanced overall package. All the HP in the world is useless if:
1-it isn't driveable(overheats,breaks,etc)
2-the vehicle doesn't handle well(weight distribution etc)
3-doesn't have well balanced suspension(not enough traction etc)
4-vehicle weight(too heavy)
5-chassis flex
Go ask any racer and they'll tell you the same, HP is nice, but it isn't always the guy with the most power that wins the race. It takes every element working perfectly together.

Alain,

You are 100% right, and I couldn't say it better myself. But some ppl out there just don't care(under-educated, I may say), bigger is better. A good performance car can't just beat on competitors on HPs alone. Lots things like tranny, weight, chassis flex...etc. has to be considered.

My final words is, want a fastest sedan/wagon in the world?? Got too much money to burn?? Get a EV12/EV12T, and you would be the luckiest man on Earth.

P.S. And if you prefer to travel in the wood once in a while, check out Brabus ML V12

Happy Motoring....

It may not be the fastest, but sure is the most striking from AMG. It's really a 500E killer(no offense, Lee )

P.S. I post 4 more pics in Feature Cars section....

My choice for the ultimate fast benz.........why, the CLK-GTR of course. Now, if only I could find a spare 1.2million in the seat cusions of my couch. 12-cylinders,sequential shift, carbon fiber everything,, to quote a famous comedian "AHR AHR AHR AHR AHR!"

It would be a hard call between the Brabus E V12, CLK-GTR, or one of the upcoming CLK V12's from the tuners. The CLK-GTR is something for a museum and would not be too streetable. (at least in my opinion) The E V12 would probably be the best all around choice. I know Renntech is planning a 7.4 liter CLK V12 that they claim should be able to give Ferrari F50 performance but still be a Benz. No doubt, Brabus has something similar planned or at least available. Pretty much any of those are enough to make one say 500 what?

something to drool over...Lee

Yeah, but the F1 cars don't have room for a CD changer.

From what I heard is that AMG takes special orders. And the yellow E55T I posted is specially ordered inside out(check Feature Cars Forum to see more pics). It have yellow exterior, 2 piece 18" AMG wheels(for S-Class), yellow/black interior with yellow inserts on the doors and yellow pipings on the black floor mats. Oh, it also has widen flare(like the legendary 500E)requested by the owner.

Hope it was harmed in the Earthquake in TW

Happy Motoring....

There is not an official AMG website to date. (that I know of) http://www.performances.com is a website for a Canadian AMG distributor.

Hope that helps...Lee
