Coolness...I'm also a DTM fan, specially the old 190s; the new cars are just silouettes. Anyway, I have some printed matter on the cars and know where to get race videos...I send you links to some sites too.

Unhappy Michael, email returned...

Michael,
My response to your email was returned as 'user is temporarily over quota' so I'll try to resend in a day or so. This is concerning meeting up at CMP and soaking suds afterwards!

Tobias,

Sorry aout that, but my ISP is going through some sort of buy-out and have decided to screw all their loyal customers. Over quota my a$$! Do me a favor and send me a message at mc@blitzenmotorsports.com. Thanks, and see you in a few weeks!

Anybody else?

Or is this gonna be a 2 MBZ event? I expect Toby's gonna be tough to keep up with in his 190E-8; any 300s out there that I can hang with

C'mon, guys, stop by if only to hang out!

So, is it just gonna be me and that little rocket Toby's gonna beat me up with? Does no one on this Board live in the Carolinas?

Unhappy The playing field may get even...

Michael,
Looks like the weather forecast may even out the field. The chance of showers for both days is appearing more possible but can't predict the %rate yet.
Yes, there are others in the Carolinas and I know of at least two others in Charlotte, one a 500E and the other a C43. I guess Kershaw (CMP) is too far away....only 40 miles!
I sent you an email and wondered if you got it about meeting up for breakfast....did you?

I'm praying for a dry track - too many track days in the rain last year.

Since I'm instructing, likely I'll be expected to be in the paddock early on Sat., so I don't know that I'll have time for breakfast...I'm sure I'll find out more early Sat. Drop me an email with a phone number for you and we can chat off-line

Plan as of now is to head towards Philly Thu night, where I'm gonna pick up Farrukh. First thing Fri. I'll be driving to SC, and plan to be at the hotel before dinner.

Let me know what plans you've made.

Had a great weekend at CMP. NASA-VA puts on a great event, and runs at quite a few tracks in the Mid-Atlantic region so check them out sometime. CMP is a bit of a schizophrenic course in that the first half is largely fast turns and the second half is almost an autocross...gonna be tough for the One Lappers who haven't pre-driven the course.

Well, only 2 benzes on track this weekend-my 500E and Toby's 190E "High Output". Yeah, no kiddin'. Car ran like stink, that is until it broke. Hope it's nuthin' too serious, amigo. Super neat car that 190E, LOTS of custom trick stuff built to the highest quality standard. Very impressive, and I wanna drive it when it's back together.

I got lots of seat time because I was "lucky" enough to have 2 students so was out in run groups 1, 2, and 4. Only spun once all weekend-it was a passenger seat deal, when in his 3rd time out for the day my student-in the rain-forgets where he is on track and is not figuring it out quickly enough. Ran out of talent before the turn-in point, which is a bad thing. Especially since we're approaching the high-speed "kink" at 90MPH or so. 1/2 spin right, then 3 1/2 to the left, but he put both feet in (just like I was screaming over the headset) and we stayed on track. Even ended up pointing the right way; what incredible luck. In a '73 911. Pucker. Got a standing ovation in the paddock as I understand, though.

Extra big thanks to Farrukh for being a mate a sharing the PA-SC driving chores and coming along for the weekend. Further, he and Toby were a huge help in the pits changing out my slicks & brakes...I'd had surgery on my back for a pre-cancerous thingy the day before leaving so wasn't feeling too spry. Thank goodness the stitches didn't touch the seatback, or harnesses would have been impossible!

So, track rats, next event??
