Hi guys..

Does a S1000 exist? I saw a silver S-class (Previous model) with a S-1000 badge. Is this possible?

Chuck

Don't think such a thing as a "S1000" exists...but it would imply a 10 litre displacement engine...he he...which would be quite a sight to see!

There was a rumor that the 1000 was actually the mercedes pulman edition limo but I can't confirm that.
You can however by the bagde at some performance stores. Usually the ones that specialize in hondas

Yal is right about the rumour. I am not sure about W140 S1000 be the factory limo, HOWEVER, I can confirmed with you that W126 1000SEL DOES exist. It's a stretched limo of 560SEL....I think I have a pic of it somewhere, I will try to find it and post it here...

I saw a S Class (140) with badging that said S3200 they must have just added the extra zero. The car also had the hood emblem of a M class or 2 door S Class on the C pillar. Looked like some one was bored and wanted to add some extras to there car.

Badging and other cosmetic (mental HP) upgrades can get quite out of hand IMO. (especially on a car like a benz) I've always wanted to ask people like that how many (I'm guessing 50 or more) HP those stripes, bogus wing, ludicrious badge, et al give them.

At least we have to give them credit for trying, Lee..

I have seen S320 SWB badged as S500, C230 badged as C33....LOL, but the MOST extreme I have seen is a W140 LWB, with S600 grill and interior(full leather, 2 tone). Wait 'til you hear the engine fires up....WA LA....In-Line-Six...

But lately, it seems that downgrade badging is the trend. Seen alot of Audi A6 4.2 badged as 2.8, debaged M5s, E55s, and Audi S4 badged as 1.8T...LOL

Hm...280SE might look good on my car.... :p

P.S. The only factory limo for W140 would be the Pullman.

Hi.
Yeah, debadging is a good idea. One of my friends had this Silver E55, he debadged the E55 and the AMG emblems. He also changed the rims to Brabus 18". When people look at his car, people would think that it is probably E320 or 430. The reason he debadged the emblem because, if people know it is E55, nobody will try to race him. But after he debadged the emblems, he had a lot of fun racing against any cars.

I wouldn't put a lesser car's badge on...but losing the badges altogether has merit IMO. I believe fellow rabid Michael did something similar for awhile on his 500E. "hey, who did the mods on that thing?" "Porsche!" Last I heard his is wearing its badges again giving the unsuspecting all the warning they are gonna get.
