i know thats not great but i was wondering how my 1985 500sel gets to 60 so fast you see alot of cars today with a slower time than that.

Honest horsepower...not wildly optimistic estimates of horsepower. And proper engineering comes into play when you need the right combination of traction, weight transfer, a proper torque curve and a solid-shifting automatic!
It always amazed me that a '90 560 SEL could take a Mustang GT of the same vintage in the 0-60 race. Nice car! ------------------ Best regards, Michael '92 500E '88 300TE |

Hi there...
you car is a "EURO" 500sel which is supposed to have a lot more power than the USA version. what is the mechanical difference? i heard it was the true dual headers?? (not sure) what is the performance of 560sel and 560sec? i remember back in 1988 my friend in a 560sel raced a guy in a probe GT turbo 5 speed manual and the 560sel won in a big way!! |

the 7.7 is the american so i may be quicker its abot the same for the 560 my car with the euro engine has the same as a 91 560
