2.3 16v, 2.5 16v fuel injection upgrades

hi
i have found a carbon DTM air box for sale but it is not for the CIS fuel injection, does anyone know what system is in place of it?, or where we can get the parts to change over?,
will the 88-92 M3 bmw fuel system change over to the 16v engine, because there's alot more performance catologs to get bmw parts from,
any advice would help
thanks
dave

Dave, the DTM cars used a custom fuel rail and injectors, not off the shelf parts. "Potomac Pat" said that the DTM's also had additional injectors which must have been controlled by additional pumps. A "group buy" is being organized for the CF airbox and other W201 EVO I replica parts on the 190Rev board.

The DTM 2.5 engine is equipped with two additional injectors on the bottom of each intake runner. (not shown !!)

Obviously, stand-alone fuel enrichment was used.

The intake that Thor is making sure is nice, no doubt. However, couldn't Thomas from feathercarbon.com fab one out cheaper? How are you planning to compensate the fuel/air mixture?

It also looks like the DTM has slide throttles, not the conventional butter fly.

I saw that engine in real life, and it does have a slide throttle setup. It was controlled with a KE-Motronic ECU...Very wicked! (420HP N/A)

Later!

I worked on the EVO-II engine in real life. The EVO-II intake is totally different from the EVO-I. It would be hard to duplicate without the original parts and you will need to substitute the Fuel injection Brain. The reason for the injectors in the top of the intake is to cool the incoming air using the fuel. This results in more HP! Did you also know that you could adjust the fuel mixture while racing from the pits? ala F1....
