Anybody know how much they will be costing? I figure alot more then the C43, because a fully equipped C320 costs $50k.

But the specs do the car justice.
I mean a C-class with 350hp and round that much lb.ft. of tourque, the new M3 doesn't even have that much torque, and no other car I can think of comes close to that much power. Anybody know any further details?

I'm guessing not more than $56K, but i thought i read somewhere that it would be low 50's. We'll see.

This link claims the C43 will be 15,000 US Dollars more than an M3, however much that is. It also says the Benz is much better than the M3.

I was just about to post a topic about this car. Anyway, I read baout it in this months issue of the Star, and it seems to be quite promising. 3.2L supercharged with 350+ HP?? It got my attention. And being that the new C is fairly light (comapritively speaking) I'm sure the times will be impressive as well. What, about 5.0-5.3 for 0-60? Maybe even better. Who knows. I just hope they can keep that price down a little (should be easy to do since it's a supercharged small engine rather than a 5.5L powerhouse). I hope it is ava with a 6-speed; that would be absolutly perfect! I can't wait!

That article (above) says the C32 will run about $52000 USD. If that's the case, I'll be the first in line! I just hope (wish) they send it over with an optional 6-speed (which I doubt they will, but you never know). Those are some pretty nice wheels, revealing those huge vented rotors & calipers; although they do kinda say M5.

Would be interesting to find out if the supercharger from the C32 will fit other 3.2 liter engines in the line.....

The C32 starts production in April. Cost in the U.S. should be $54K without COMAND or CD/Phone, so the price is about $6K more than an otherwise comparibly equipped C320.

The engine will have 354PS/450N-m (that's 349hp/332ft-lb in U.S. units). Same transmission as CLK55/E55, but uses a lower differential ratio. 0-100kph is 5.2s, so 0-60mph should be about 5 seconds flat.

The new look will include a new AMG-styling package (not the Avantgarde package on the C-class sport package), 5-double-spoke AMG wheels (same sizes as C43 wheels). Chrome dual oval exhaust tips like the C43. Cross-drilled brake rotors and new AMG-logo calipers.

FYI, the new W203 is about 200lbs heavier than the W202, so it's not exactly light, even comparitively speaking.

The same engine will be offered in the SLK32 which goes into production at the same time. As far as other supercharged engines, the new '03 SLxx AMG and the '03 Exx AMG will be the first to get supercharged 5.0L V8s with about 450hp.

BTW, I figured out a formula for guessing the price of an AMG model. Take the base price of the next lower model in the lineup, then add $17,500, the result is within $500 of the actual base price of the AMG model. Except for the ML55, it works for every AMG model sold in the U.S. since the C36.

A clarification: C32 production starts in April 2001, but imports to the U.S. will not start before July 2001, so expect it to arrive here around the same time as the normal 2002 model year introductions.

I contacted MBUSA about ordering one, and they said the first C32s should be coming in during April/ May 01. However, they have been wrong before!

Well For all those who get Road & Track, says it will have 354hp and 332lb.ft. (21hp better and 63 lb.ft. better then a M3) and says they won't be available until the fall of 2001. price, $53K fully equipped. BMW better run. Cause AMG is on its way.
