But the W124 muffler only has one inlet, correct? If your going to do true dual exhaust, this won't work out... Magnaflow and/or DynoMax, (however its spelled), have 2 in, 2 out mufflers that sound good. I have a friend who has one on his W126 coupe and it looks pretty good. He had custom oval tips welded on.

EuroCoupe,
....your statement is totally correct. Since the W126 is a very heavy vehicle I wanted to shed a few pounds off the chassis , so I had the muffler shop remove the resonator muffler and installed a Y-Pipe to complement the muffler.
After the install was a completed I noticed a instant difference in the car's performance. Just my 2 cents.....

So your setup is Remus exahaut without the two resonators, right? Do you still have the cat, or did you take it out?

Also, if it's possible, maybe a good idea to have a sound clip of your exhaust note.

Twitch,
....the 300 series only has one resonator, but correct. Install also included a free-flow cat too. Sorry can't provide sound clip, but trust me the muffler sounds sweet.

Benzw126,

What a spectacular upgrade, I'm very impressed. I've totally blown this year's budget for cool stuff on wheels and euro parts, but when next year rolls around I'm ALL OVER THAT!

Beautiful job!

I know this is an old thread, but I'm thinking of putting a Dynomax on my SEC. I had the resonators cut out and replaced with straight pipe. I have two pipes going in and two going out of my muffler. I need to find the correct model muffler. most have only a single inlet.

Mufflers

Magnaflow sells a 2 inlet 2 outlet in 14-18" long, straight thru pipes or with internal x crossover pipe good quality and finish at reasonable prices (@$120.00) from Shopmufflers.com. Dynomax just came out with same set up. I personally prefer Magnaflows, better finish, long lasting; may be a bit loud w/o your resonators but a pair of resonated tips, or short bullet type Magnaflows where resonators used to be will make things very pleasant. I think Dynomax's are too loud for my taste. My best set up on a V8 Mercedes 6.9 was with 18" long Maganflow at the rear and 2 bullet type Maganaflows where resonators were located. Total set up about $300 installed.

I run the Magnaflow muffler, and in 2.5" all the way from the down pipes, it's definitely a bit on the loud side.

That being said, I'm going to be looking at a set of Aero resonators, after I see what the cats do to the exhaust note.

A local performance shop built my system for me, ~$700 for the full system from the down pipes to the turned down tips behind the muffler, tucked up behind the bumper trim.

I have a 500 SEC (Euro) with Euro headers and true duals until the last muffler. Any suggestions on muffler brand, this is a AMG model (not the motor) and I want a louder more aggressive sound.
Any thoughts

I like the way those sound. Of course, I like the sound of Mustangs with stock mufflers.
