18" Evo II Wheels from MB Used parts in Germany?
Has anyone ever attempted to purchase wheels from the "Mercedes-Benz Used Vehicles and Used Parts Centre" in Germany?
They offer used parts and overstocked inventory of Mercedes parts. They have a ton of wheels available, some in sizes previously unknown. Here is the link, http://www.mbatc.de/english/index_e.htm for the English language with no links that end up with wheels. But, if you click this link you have access to the web page with wheels available only in the German language. Click on the moving wheel on the right to see what is available and on the lower right link to see a .pdf of what appears to be every recent Mercedes wheel ever offered and wheels never seen in the US, including MB part # (AMG included and at the bottom what appears to be the new SLR wheel). Now, another puzzling thing on this PDF is what is called the "Izar" wheel, or what we call the Evo II wheel. If you open another browser window and move threw the first link pages (about 16 or more) you will come across the "Izar" wheel in a 18" x 9 size, to my knowledge the Evo II never came this large??? Am I missing something here folks, did this wheel ever come on a SUV, the ET is 52, the part # is B6 647 16 41, can someone look this part up? BTW, the prices are outstanding, the R230 in 18x9.5 is 206 Euro's or $220 US. Last edited by roas; 03-27-2003 at 11:26 PM. |

Ross,
I believe they do make the EVO II for the ML but I'm not positive on the diameter. I'm sure the offset will be much different for the ML and 52 sounds right.

Afshin is correct ... this 18" EVO II (Izar) is for the ML Class vehicle. I looked at this size before I purchased my 17" x 8.25" EVO IIs from my MBZ dealer.
Now if you're brave, buy one 18" wheel, play with offset spacers, and let us all know about your success.

Am I right in thinking you would need a 18 mm spacer to get the right offset in the rears? Would that work or would that look stupid? I love the Evo look but 17"s are to small if I am going for a wheel upgrade. Besides, there are plenty of other nice wheels to choose from IF buying from here in the US is possible on that site (can anyone translate these German pages?). Damn, I wish I wasn't so picky! I have been debating on what wheel to buy forever. Maybe I'll just have to spend the dough on my favorite wheel the Brabus III design, kinda heavy though... |

I believe Potomac Auto has sets of take-offs of that ML wheel for real cheap and does require like a 20mm spacer. They had an ad in the STAR mag for the past couple of issues.
That'd be cool if it worked on a 500E...real cool. Hope someone tries it. |

What about spacer issues, what is safe, what is unsafe?
Does anyone have any pictures of some wheels on a car with 20mm spacers? |
