Tony,

We are a small group of about six 500E/E500 owners in the bay area who subscribe to this discussion group. As far as I know, there have been two get-togethers in recent months, as well as smaller meetings of 2-3 owners. We'd love to meet you, either for a drive together or simply to chat!

-fad, Tom, run.exe, John, Shanta (and others), when can we get together locally for another event so we can meet Tony?

-fad, do you know the drives up by La Honda? I've heard there are some pleasant roads around there.

Of course, the roads in Marin, as Tom knows well, beckon!

Regards,
Bob

I know what he is suggesting, but I still don't see the disadvantaged part, I would call it lazy for lack of better words.

Tom is a drive away from a 1st gear start module, while their are others at distances tat really put them at a disadvantage for driving to get the 1st gear start module.

Carl, is a nice guy, he may come to SLO, you never know.

Everyone,

Take a look at my other thread "500E/E500 West Coast GTG", Carl just replied saying he should be able to make it for dinner on the first of two days. If anyone subscribed to this thread is interested please sign up on the the other thread. After we have determined who and how many are going maybe we can talk to Carl about some goodies.

Shanta,

Your car isn't ready yet? I was really hoping to see it and all the changes made

Greetings! I can make time to GTG with our N Cal Bay Area Group most any weekend- - weather permitting.

I'm in San Jose and am open to most gtg:
>morning coffee
>lunch/ brunch
>dinner
>drive to interesting venues-events/ chat/ food
>an hour ---to more than an hour GTG...

I'm not familiar with the drives in Marin county- and am willing to try them!

Bob- are you planning on attending the SLO 500e/e500 GTG in May? I will try my best.

Best regards
-fad
Other than that weekend- I'm open.

Count me in for a weekend Bay Area gathering. I believe early morning is best as the presence of law enforcement and other vehicles is minimized. I do not need much notice at all.

As for SLO in May, I am not sure yet.

Bob,
No, I didn't see the E500 parked on 4th Street in San Rafael, but I DID see a Pearl Black 500E on 3rd Street on Saturday afternoon! I honked and caught his attention, but it was no one nor any car I've seen before.

Marin rules for the most 500E/E500s per capita.

I'm up for another local GTG. Just set a time. However, Sundays work better for me, as I have an ongoing Saturday AM comittment.

Tom

Tom,

My mechanic is in the City; he's a BMW expert, but consented to work on my cars, as I used to own a BMW (a 325ix) which he serviced.

If you'd like an introduction, I'd be happy to ask him.

I did drive by that San Rafael car rather quickly, although I think it was an E500, likely pearl black or black. Since it wasn't -fad's car, it probably was not quite as nice! (But any 500E/E500 is a nice car, isn't it?)

Also, there is a fine example of an E500 in the City, a smoke silver one with, I think, 18 inch wheels. I do hope he or she joins us in this discussion group.

Lastly, did you read in Road and Track that the Editor-in-Chief recently purchased a 500E? A rather nice vote of confidence, isn't it?

John, did you see that MBZ $32m class action products liability settlement in the "Flexible Service System" dispute over oil changes (synthetic service time vs. dino service time in the 1998-2001 cars)? (O'Keefe v. Mercedes Benz USA).

Regards,
Bob

Count me in for another Bay Area GTG as well! Sundays are best for me...early afternoon, but I'll try to make it whenever it works.
