1st Gear Start Control Module by BergWerks

First time user of this forum. Glad I found it. This is great.

Has anyone installed this in their E500/500E? How did the installation go? Does is perform as advertised? Would you recommend it? What do you know about BergWerks?

Do a serach and you will come up witht he answers that you seek. A number of members (including) myself have had this unit installed. It works better then advertised (if you ask me)

I would recommend having this unit installed.

BTW: I have a 94 E500.

Greetings Tony and welcome!

There's a good number of 500e500 owners on mercedesshop in the SF Bay area and the S Cal area.

How many miles are on your car and how long have you had it? Color?

Mine's a '94 w/ 42.9k. Pearl Black/Black-

best regards
-fad

I can also vouch for the Bergwerks module. Works like a charm. I dunno how I went for so long without first gear start. What's more, Carl's a great guy.

Do you have any pics of your current or previous car?

Not a 500E but I have a first gear start kit as well. I also have most of the stuff that Bergwerks offer, they are an awesome bunch of guys.

Matt.

welcome, Tony

I have a RENNtech first gear start valve-body; I highly recommend this mod (regardless of its vendor/flavor).

FYI - I live and work in the East Bay and I'm in SF, frequently.

Welcome to mercedesshop.com!

Greetings, Tony.

Perhaps we can get together sometime.

As you see, -fad and I are two other bay area E500 owners. We have many 500E friends locally as well.

Do you come into the City?

Regards,
Bob

Maybe we can convince Carl to come to the SLO meet and bring a few units along, for those of us who are "disadvanaged".

Tom,

Any idea whose black E500 (not 500E) was in San Rafael on Saturday? I saw it parked on 4th Street.

-fad, that wasn't yours, was it?

Regards,
Bob

Tom,

How are you "disadvantaged". Going down to Carl's shop is well worth the trip, IMHO. I drove down there for the Bay Area.

Bob-

It would be great to get together. Sounds like a good group of car fanatics! How many E500/500E owners do you know of in the South Bay Area and down the peninsula? I don't make it up to SF as much as I would like.

Tony

I think Tom was referring to those W124-036 types who do not have a 1st gear start solution; he is suggesting Carl bring some units with him to SLO
to perform "field expedient" installations.
