Hallo Mr.Shell,

unfortunately we do not sell these parts either.

Our 6.5L V8 runs $41,000.00 installed, broken in (500miles) and including tax.

I take it that you have already a high performance break system on your car.

Andreas,

I was afraid you might say that... (no parts a la carte, even if installed at the Brabus facility).

; )

Doesn't Brabus also offer a 6.0L upgrade for the M119 motor? If so, what is its total price?
Please include a detailed kit-of-parts for the upgrade (i.e. - components/manufacturers/specs, etc.).

My concern is that so much horsepower/torque will wreak havoc on the final drive/transmission and subframe; I have heard of 405 horsepower at 420 lb-feet of torque causing a Gleason-Torsen (locking) differential to explode and tear the subframe into myriad pieces. My 500E transmission has a stock final drive ratio and has been rebuilt with all 600SL updates, for handle extra torque handling/smoother shifts.

In fact, I do *NOT* have a performance brake package, at present; as such, please send me complete, current Brabus kit pricing and specifications. Specifically, I am looking for 14" front rotors + calipers and 12" or 13" rear rotors + calipers. Please specify the manufacturer (Brembo, Movit, etc.) and whether or not your kit-supplied rotors are cryogenically treated, by default - and if they may be cadmium-plated (or if they already are, as shipped).

RSVP / Thank you,

- s/m/s

Kolbenschmidt

Kolbenschmidt and Mahle are the two big German piston manufacturers. They are both high quality, big companies who make pistons for many OEM's, not just German ones, as well as some aftermarket folks like Renntech, etc., and various racing programs.

Hello,

yes we do have a 6.0lV8, producing around 400hp and little over 400 lb-ft of torque but it it's not certified for California, smog wise that is.

This engine must not blow up your transmission, otherwise Brabus had not certified this perfromance upgrade.

All internal parts are new, the specific OEM's aren't released by Brabus but rest assured it's top notch.

The 6.0L engine runs $22,709.00 installed, broken in incl. tax.

Our break system is $8,532.00 incl tax and installation.

I don't have all the specs available but is has cross drilled front and rear rotors, probably 14.2" front and 13" rear with 4 piston
aluminum calipers front and 2 or 4 piston calipers rear.
The OEM is Alcon.

The engine upgrade is a little bit tricky, certification is very expensive and at the end of day it would not be profitable
for Brabus.

Please let me know if you really want the engine.

Best Regards

Andreas:

I apologize for my last e-mail, re: brake kit pricing; I didn't see your ($8,532.00 including tax and installation) quote, at first, mid-thread. Do you have pictures of the W124-036 (Alcon) brakes (front and rear), please? Are calipers and rotors available in a variety of colors/finishes (per my original questions)?

Regarding the 6.0L versus the 6.5L Brabus M119 upgrades - specifically, are you saying that the 6.5L upgrade *is* California certified/legal... but the 6.0L upgrade is *NOT*? That is a bit confusing...

Also, what are the net BHP and torque gains with the 6.5L upgrade, please?

RSVP / thank you, Sir.

carries Kolbenschmidt pistons.

You should get that E420 engine my friend has, bore it out big time, and that way you dont sacrifice your 500E engine for historical reasons. =)

I emailed this to you also scott.

Good day, Mr. Neves.

I have 3 items of business, please:

1) what is the contact e-mail address for *ANYONE* at the mercedesengines.net domain?

2) www.mercedesengines.net does not list an e-mail address (I could not find it, at least), anywhere

3) I require pricing, via e-mail, for Kolbenschmidt pistons and performance camshafts for my 1993 500E.

RSVP / Thank you,

Thank you for your reply, Mike.

I have some more questions, please:

1) How much would your company charge me, turn-key, for a complete 11:1 compression (Kolbenschmidt) piston upgrade (installed) in my 1993 500E (V8-4973cc 5.0L DOHC M119)?

2) How long would the job take and where would the work be done?

3) How would this affect my options, in the future, for a (Brabus or RENNtech) 6.0L or 6.5L displacement upgrade?

RSVP / Thank you,

- s/m/s

Scott:

Sorry you had a difficult time with our e-mail address. Anyway, you got us info@mercedesengines.net will work fine of call us @ 800-622-6867 We do not stock performance cams for youir car. We do however stock oversize pistons which are $210.00 each. They are 97.00mm whcih is .50mm bigger than stock. Standard pistons are available in one week for the same price. We also carry a higher compression version (11:1 vs stock 10:1) performance pistons for your 500E. They are $245.00 each in STD (one week) or oversize (in stock).

Also available is the remanufactured shortblock or longblock assembly per our website www.mercedesengines.net. For the high compression upgrade add $500.00 on to it.

For performance cams you can try Beckers in Georgia @ 800-624-5410.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Mike Elias

Subject: 500 engine

Scott:

The 11:1 piston upgrade for your 500 requires a complete engine rebuild. As to get a perfect fit and finish would require an oversize bore and cylinder conditioning. So I can price it as follows...

Longblock assembly $8,400.00 (wholesale cost and supplied per website)
[retail is $9,800.00]

add high compression piston upgrade $500.00

Net cost for engine itself is $8,900.00 (retail $10,300.00).

We do not work on the cars here, we are a machine shop and perform just the engine building. Also we are strictly wholesale, but in some instances we can supply to the public at wholesale price provided the installing garage gives approval. As with any business most installers want to purchase the engine from us at the wholesale price then mark it up to you at retail. We do have a local guy here that we work with -that perfroms the installation- who is skilled, honest and reasonable and he lets you have the engine at his cost. He is content making his labor to install of $1,400.00. Plus incidentals (belts, hoses, plugs, motormounts, water pump, etc. ) approx $600.00 for incidentals.

Total [turn key] project with installation here in L.A. $10,900.00.

Would take approx. two weeks to complete.

We are in Los Angeles.

This modification would have no effect on any future high performance mods you may be contemplating (Brabus or Renntech).

Sincerely -

Mike Elias
