RENNtech cams/Kolbenschmidt pistons, anyone?

500E/E500 compatriots:

Which of you (if anyone) has purchased and had installed RENNtech (ground, performance) camshafts and/or
semi-forged, composite (Kolbenschmidt) pistons?

Are they even available, seperately, or only as part of the 6.0L upgrade?

While I await your replies, I will e-mail Bob Brady...

RSVP / Thank you,

RENN TECH

Scott,
I think the reason RENNTECH does not make these components available separately is because they are publishing
the increase in HP and Torque with their products. These components are engineered as a package to deliver specified
results. Seperating them would probably introduce certain liabilities for RENNTECH as a tuner
as far as delivering the expected results. Just my opinion

perhaps, however...

...what of their "authorized service/installation centers," nation-wide?

clarification

1) RENNtech will NOT sell their 500E/E500 camshafts and pistons a la carte

2) RENNtech will sell their 500E/E500 camshafts and pistons ONLY as part of a 6.0L upgrade (only available at their Florida facility, to my knowledge)

3) per my sig, I have a 1993 500E; my M119 engine # is < 8760, so I only require the cheaper 6.0L upgrade package ($24K versus $33K)

I don't think they would say, either.

Andreas,

Is it possible for me to purchase and have Brabus install (ground, performance) camshafts and
semi-forged, composite (Kolbenschmidt = my preference) pistons in my 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E?

Are said parts even available, separately, or only as part of the 6.0L upgrade package?

RENNtech will *NOT* sell me the parts, a la carte; will Brabus quote me this job, please?

In addition, please e-mail complete pricing for a 6.0L (and/or 6.5L, preferably) conversion for my vehicle.

RSVP / Thank you,

Scott M. Shell

Cool,

How many miles does your motor have on it? My friend has a 1994 E420 W124 that got crashed with a complete engine, transmission, the rear subframe is bent though. You could get that engine bore it out to 100 mm or 112.5mm (is that what 6.5L engine has) pistons an do all the work to that so you dont sacrifice your origional 500E motor. If you could get some renntech cams you could have crowler cams make anything you want. Keep me posted

thanks, Austin

Good to know; I will keep all my options open.

Increasingly, I'm feeling the urge to "proceed to the next level."

More than 400 hpr in a w124 you are going to have to look into subframe modifications, I am not talking about the renntech rear link kit. You will have to stiffen the mounts and keep the subframe from ripping out the body mounts.
