Unhappy 500e

You have the unfortunate distinction of living in Britain. Even if you had a 500e you could rarely use its full potential. 5k miles a year would never keep its pipes clean. Petrol would be exorbitant.
Go for a 190e 2.3-16.

Not sure why this sprung a new thread, but it's to me..

This partly touches what I've been wondering about - do I need as much car as a 500E..?

I agree on fuel costs, and possibly the low mileage issues, but I have to fully disagree with you on the 'stretching its legs' part .

Seriously, most of my miles are done on the motorway, and I very much suspect my 190E spends more time at 85-110 mph than it does below 30 mph (I roughly top out [~120mph] around once a month), probably because it works so well at those speeds.

Stretching its legs shouldn't be a problem, and I don't do much city driving.

I just worry a 16v won't have the pace I wish for.

...if you have to think too much about it....

a 500e in particuilar may not be a car for you.,...no worries however- - there are many makes & models to choose from!

best regards

500e

Sorry, I must have hit new thread instead of reply.
Do 500es appear on the market in GB with any regularity and in what price range??
I might be interested in one. I spend part of the year in IRL

Not that regularly, I find perhaps 1 new one per month, maybe a touch more often.

They go from £9,500 (private, ~100k miles?) to £13,000 (Specialist, 55k miles) and higher for collector-spec and Limiteds.

Once I saw one for £5,500, but I hope that was a misprint, or I wouldn't go anywhere near that car.
