Very nice Albert!

I did not think red would look good on a 500E, but after seeing your example I Love it.

The wheels are perfect for that color.

I agree! Makes you wonder why there aren't more red Mercedes. Love the car, looks very very clean.

Did you have the lower part of the car painted, or was it solid red from the start?

Thanks.......ya'll

Manu, the previous owner had the panel painted there were a yucky looking flat Red. The rear bumper needs a retouch and you can just barely see th original color.

Cardude - Believe it or not, now my feeling are to drive it even less. But I do so lov the look. Thanks for the hookup on the tires too.

Hoping to do the red/clear tailights,Neils chip and maybe the grill soon, and that'll be pretty much it

Nothing against putting an EPROM in (I have), but I suggest you consider a Y-pipe; I feel it givves the most performance improvement, and makes the car sound just a bit nastier to boot

Oh God!

That car looks so good!

Most of my friends who don't really know cars (women included) say "that's a bada$$ looking car" whenever I show them a 500E hehehe

it really is....

Enjoy

Very Clean Look

As others have said, the red looks great! That color gets my Italian blood flowing!!!

Do you like the ride height? Have you ever considered lowering the car via spring pads? Glen, Placo1 and I are doing that now. Currently, my 500E has 3-bump pads in the front and 2-bump pads in the rear. I will be doing a E500 Limited set-up ... 2-bump front, 1-bump rear. We are also adjusting the ride height via the self-leveling system. Glen and I did his yesterday.

Ciao.

Oh, BTW ... love your license plate.

Maybe a few more enhancements

Cardude, the tailights are those on the EXTREME 500E

Michael , I definitely am thinking about the Y pipe.

E Dream and Norman Anthony - I have search high and low and was not able to find the specifics on how to lower the car using the self leveling system. I'd love to take a little of the floatiness out of the car. Its particularly noticable just after i've drived the 400 with the full suspension conversion. So if someone could tell me how, I'd sure like to do it.
The one other mod that i I'm for sure going to do is to complete the monochromatic look by painting the bumber strips and possibly some stainless steel door entry sill covers.

Sweet ride my friend....The red was one of my color choices...Maby my next car I'll do it pearl red....For the rear lights...they run around $350 or so...that is what I payed abt a year ago.... I think "inpro" or "impro" makes it..... They are DOT lights.....I love them...gives the car a unique look

Good day,
Albert S.

Lowering the 500E

Aldedmon ... Glen, Afshin and I have (in the process of) lowered our cars by replacing the Coil Spring Pads and adjusting the Self Leveling Suspension. Glen all ready has 1-bump pads (8 mm) in the rear so he did not have to replace his. Afshin and I had 2-bump pads (13 mm) in the rear, 3-bump (18 mm) in the front. As the pictures show, we replaced the pads in the rear by lowering the lower-link of the suspension and removed the spring and pad. A spring compressor was not needed for the rear. After replacing the rear pads, we bolted everything pack up and measured an approximate drop of 3/16" for Afshin and 3/8" for me (We believe that the lower-link bushing was tighted prior to the suspension being preloaded). We took our mearsurements from the floor to the lower lip of the fender. We will be letting the suspension settle for a couple of days before we make any SLS adjustments. Glen did make a SLS adjustment that allowed his car to sit parrallel to the floor (not raked). We haven't changed out our front pads yet; the spring compressor we had would not allow us to remove the front coil. We will be taking our cars to an Indy within a month to finish the job. To adjust the SLS, one goes under the car near the right rear suspension. There you will find the SLS valve connected to the rear torsion bar (I believe ... if I'm wrong, somebody chime in) via a turn-buckle link. By increasing the length of the turn-buckle link, the suspension will lower. We did a trial and error approach.

Anyways ... this is what we are doing to lower our cars.
