Talking How long have you had your 500E/E500

Its been 1 year (4/18), since I first laid eyes on and purchsed my beloved 500E. I've driven it sparingly and as you've seen done a few mods since that time. I suppose the honeymoon is over now, but I still love her like it was the first day with absolutely no regrets. hope not to have to, but would certainly do it again. How long have you had your 500E/E500. ( Just in case anyones interested, bought the 400E new in 92)

I've had mine for 1 year and 1 month.

Every day the car impresses me in some way and makes me appreciate it more. I'm happier with the car now than I was when I bought it.

The one thing I truly appreciate about buying a quality used car is that when you make minor repairs it eventually looks and feels like a new car. Theres also a sense of accomplishment that goes along with it.

It will a year in June, when I went out to Memphis and brought her home.
Some regrets, mainly financial. Also, guilt about the enormous amounts of fuel she consumes. Her nickname is "Thirsty". However, I do love this car.

Like others, I threw $1000+ at her to fix a problem that turned out to be $150.00.

I'm right behind you Tom ...

In the past 6 months I've had the 500E, I've enjoyed 10,000 fun-filled, soundwave-compressesing miles! My first trip was from Dallas (approx 1400 miles) to the West (Left) Coast and then later a Bonzai run up to THE Bay Area and back (approx 1000 miles). As one would guess, this is my Daily Driver ... I am a lucky man. I can't wait to receive the 250 kilometer (150k miles) mileage badge from MBZ.

Norm,

Did you buy your car in Dallas? Just curious if it was either of the 2 by me. One in Plano and the other in Carrollton.

Tom- would you share- what was your $150 problem/ symptoms?

btw- I'm coming up on 2 years of trouble free ownership at the end of 5/03. My Starmark is good another year till 5/04! I'll have the wiring harness checked later this year for possible warranty coverage and the rear heater hoses r/r while its in the shop.

I've put just a tad over 10k on the car in 2 years with weekend use/ vacation use. Currently odo shows 47.9k.

As Neil and Scott can attest- - mine is running very very robustly (in stock form)

best regards

-fad

Not sure which is better (or worse) owning my 500E for three years or knowing Curcio for the same length of time!
