Turbo install update

First of all I want to thank everybody for the help they provided, without this and the 190revolution forum I would never have been able to go through with this setup. Finally I've got the car running with the turbo setup. I'll post pictures of the setup saturday. One of the problems I had was that the intercooler was to small and could not flow enough air, so a removed the intercooler and put a pipe in its place. The question that come to my mind is, is it safe to run 0.5 bars of boost without an intercooler ? The other question I have is conserning the mixture because I think I've set it to rich on full throttle the reading form the 02 sensor stay constant a 0.91 - 0.93 volts on idle it around 0.7 - 0.8.

First: You want your mixture to be rich & stay rich at wide open throttle.
Second: At 0.5 bar of boost, you are just on the borderline of intercooler/no intercooler.
Of course, when in doubt, it is always better with an intercooler, especially in warmer climates.
I assume, you will re-install the 'cooler, once you get it sorted out.

I'm glad i could help! Was my recommendation a good fix for your fuel problem?

You may want to try a water/methanol injection. Mine works great and without it my engine would detonate like crazy. Since I'm running such high boost levels, I had to use some kind of cooling system for the intake charge. I could run about 7 psi of boost with no intercooling system and no boost retard but beyond that it wasn't pretty. With the methanol injection I can run at full advance with around 12 psi of boost.

manny, yes I'll install the cooler as soon as I find a suitable one but thats hard since it's very cramped in the engine bay
super SEC, your advice was of great help to me! At first the car was running very lean and under boost the ECU would switch to closed loop mode (the reading form the O2 would always stay on 0.44 like when the O2 is broken), after I enriched it in the way you said the car runs fine, the O2 now registers 0.91 - 0.93 volts under full boost (is it not to rich now, should I set it to read about 0.8 - 0.85 ??). The car now drives great, it has a great pickup from 2500 - 5000 rpm, but above that it seem to straggle and it is very hard to get to 7000 rpm (it used to rev with no hesitation to 7200 before), fuel is not the problem the O2 registers above 0.9 volts (I have the volt meter tied directly to the O2 wire). Any suggestion on where I should look for the problem ??

P.S. Can any one advise me on what diameter intake (from turbo to throttlebody) and exhaust pipes I should use ?

Joreto,

Are you seeing any black smoke when you accelerate at higher rpms? If not, it sounds like you need to richen the mixture some more. Before I adjusted my EHA, around 7 turns rich, my car would not even rev in neutral past 5000 rpm.

Turbo piping on a 2.5L should be about 2.25" I would also use a 2.5" exhaust. If money is no object then 3" But look for the mufflers first because they are very limited.
