300E Performance Brake Calipers!!

Not exactly performance but they look cool! It amazes me how people in this forum seem to do things in groups. We should plan for this stuff! Anyway, Here is my new set of calipers I refurbished. Nope, not high temp paint. I had them Jet-Hot coated. For the process, they only charged me $150 for all six pieces, not bad. They did a good job on them too. I also replaced all the seals myself. They were fairly easy. It took me a little time to get the procedure down correctly. Otherwise it was a snap. I purchased speed bleeders for them as well and a set of stainless steel brake lines. I hope the whole combo will give me better stopping power. Well, we will see. I still have one of the rear calipers to finish but I have to find the time, I've been really busy!
Enjoy!
Adam

Look pretty sharp, should keep the heat down too. I am just worred about how hot they get them to put on that jet hot stuff.

Did you replace the seals between the calipers? If it has them? Did you take pictures of the reseal install...Im trying to learn how to do it myself.

Hi guys, please excuse the delay, very buisy lately.

Yal,
I purchased the speedbleeders from the speedbleeder company since they are local to me. They weren't very professional on the phone but they did ship my order right away.

omegabenz,
Not sure exactly what seal you are talking about but all the rubber was replaced. They heat them up to about 500 deg. F, this is no problem for these iron calipers. As for the DIY, it was very easy. Only thing you have to have patience with is installing the front calipers dust seal. It's a little tricky but not too bad. Another thing that will help greatly is a compressed air sorce to get them apart. Make sure you put a board or something between them or they will shoot out and smash the pucks all up. I made the mistake of putting my fingers there... OUCH! If you have the service manual on cd that will help you understand. I would have taken pics but I just can't find the time to do any car projects right now.

Thanks for the compliments!
Adam
