Thumbs up I have finally arrived

Hello everyone. I have sold my GN and I have been searching forums and asking questions as to which Benz I would like. An AMG car? C Class? CLK? E? I am now done.............Sold the Grand National on Saturday and I will be picking up my 1992 500E It is charcol black with black interior. 125,000 kilometers and Mercedes serviced here in Vancouver on Broadway. I am very happy I look forward to getting to know more people on the board. I have always loved Mercedes and this car gives the best of evry world! Cheers!

Shaun

Question: How do I change my user name from CanVan87Gn to something more appropriate? E-mail a moderator? TIA.

Talking Congrats!!!!!

Well, you made a great choice, IMHO ... I too have a 92 500E with Black Pearl (199 - Blauschwartz) and Black Leather.

When was the car built? (The MFG date is shown on the Driver's door - B-pillar). My 500 was made 12/91 ... early build that doesn't have all the NA/Cali emissions docs as others do ... as well as other bits.

Do post pics when you can ... and enjoy the ride!

Welcome to the club! I have a 92 Pearl Black, also.

So, how much did you pay for your beast?

Mine is built in late 1991 as well. I will find the exact date.

At the bottom of every MercedesShop page is an icon to click to "contact webmaster". His name is Bill Wood, he's a nice guy. Contact him and he should be able to help you change your username.

This is the finest, tightest....the best car I have ever driven period! I have driven many cars and the Merc that comes the closest (that I have driven) would be a 1997 C36. The 500E is quicker but the C36 is more nimbler. There is nothing wrong with this car (my opinion). I just keep singing in my head that classic queen song, you know, the one Freddy Mercury didn't sing vocals......I'm in love with my car I give this car a 10 / 10.

placo1 that is it. I had to move the car in my Townhouse lot and when I parked it back in my spot, i gave the car a rev to about 4,500 RPM's. The torque felt like it was going to rip the car apart! Good to be here guys!

My brother (CMuc on this board) told me not to do this to much. Not good for the transmission.

Welcome to the 500E fever...a fever that will never be cured. You are obviously a person of immense wisdom and discerning taste. There is no sedan comparable to this car as you will learn.
Change the oil, change the oil, change the oil, change the oil, change the oil, change the oil and you're gonna have this car a long time.
