Well, actually the problem here is that my wife would like to have the car for herself. She has no problem whatsoever with me buying it.

As for the price, I am not sure that $32k to $34k is too much for a 500e with less than 10k on it but it's a lot of money if you dont really need a new car.

My .02

I think right now you need to become familiar with the car; its quirks, its history, its abilities before you consider if a price is fair or appropriate. You have a tough job ahead of you as there aren't a whole lot to baseline against but there are a few in the DC area and some of us would be happy to share our thoughts, stories and let you see, feel, and touch the cars. Thats the only way you will be able to identify whether its the right car at the right price for you so when and IF you begin the "hunt" you will be better equipped to make a decision.

BTW...Mine is not a daily driver but I can honestly say everytime I get into it its like I am driving it for the first time all over again.

Best of luck.

*LOL*

This is exactly why we've got two. Dad couldn't get mom out of the first 500 so he had to get a second one so he could get some time in the driver's seat.

ph yeah...if at all possible you should get one.

Now you've got her right where yo want her!

Buy the 500E and let her enjoy the car for a little while, next, start looking for her "New" favorite car.

Next, buy it!

Problem solved.

Seriously, I was in the same boat and that is the only method that worked.

Oh, and your original question, "Should I buy a 500E?".

Yes
