the impreza. you're talking about 2 cars that are seperated by ~20 years in terms of technology. plus the impreza is 4wd while the 190E is rwd. you're also comparing a N/A motor with a turbocharged motor.

not exactly apples and apples.

yes but i think the 190E will hold it up against the subaru impreza, the subaru is a turbocharged car but the 190 has almost the same hp range, i will try it. Cause i have hold it almost with my 300D Turbo(no joke man) you can laugh now, but i have got 183hp and the subaru has 220 I was very close to him, and he was already coming with a speed of 20 30km/h and i was standing still. So i think the 2,5 16V will get him @ a trafficlight race

The subaru would probably win the standing start race. It's 4wd so it will make a better start, its a bit lighter 2722lb vs.
2866 lb, has more torque 214lbft vs 173 lbft and more hp. I've seen it rated at 5.9sec 0-60 while the 2.5-16v is around 7.3 sec. Anyway go for it and post the result.

P.S. forgot to say that it makes the 1/4mile run in about 13.5-14sec and the 16v is in the 15-15.5sec region

Without pictures of the intercooler and dyno slips to prove 183hp, I say:

I would have to say the Impreza.....however, the driver will be a big factor in this one. But.....the 190E will have to get through the gears perfectly and the impreza will have to miss one. I had a guy in one actually try to play w/ me while I was on my 2K1 Suzuki GSXR 600 which does 1/4 mile times in the 10's straight out of the box (of course with a good rider). Anyway, I had a passenger and I wanted to play too...stop light race with highway up ahead.......minimum danger. Of course any car challenging a Motorcycle has got to be modified a little.....anyway, I was impressed with the way he was still trying as I saw him dissapear in my rear view.....but they are damn quick off the line....the AWD really helps. I have a 2.3-16V turbo and I think it would be very close between those two.........what do you all think.....don't mean to sabotage this thread though.
Anyway, best way to find out is to actually do it. Other than that....nothing else matters. Do it and let us know the results. Later.
