1/8 Mile results in JAX 500E vs. 360TE AMG

73-Farenheit
87% humidity
6:30pm-8pm EST

Best Time on Nitto 555R Drag Radials (225/50R16) @ 33 PSI
ASR OFF
2nd gear start

Reaction 1.240-sec.
60-ft 2.289-sec.
330-ft 6.235-sec.
1/8-mile 9.487-sec. @ 74.75 MPH

Best Time on Kumho ECSTA (275/40R17) 9.735-sec. @ 74.34 MPH

It was too hot & humid for the C36-powered wagon, even with Nitto Drag radials, still can't beat my best time of 9.552 @ 73.51, but then again it was only 62-F at that time.

Neil,

Perhaps a small bit of advice regarding the lights might help that R/T of yours (picked it up from a 30 yr drag racing vet)...try to leave when the last yellow light just comes on, or the second to last one goes out. I try to do the latter, and can fairly consistently cut a sub .65 light (and I've never red-lighted).

Keep at it!

This was the first time I did the 500E, and with ASR off, I was glancing at the tach.

I've been dropping the "hammer" at the end of the 1st yellow light and have been able to get reaction times between 0.235 and 0.488 with the wagon.

Just need to practice more with the 500E.

A fellow MB Silver State Classic particpant built his own timing lights to practice with here. It would need to be modified, but here it is nonetheless.

As I understand, it's different for the pros, but isn't anything under .500 a red light?

Thanks for the link!

Well that explains all the fouls!

I thought closer to "0" is better.

Knowing that, I think I can consistently get 0.500-0.650
