Hi All!

About one month ago I drove over a large rock that fell off a landscaper's truck just after I lowered my car between 1.5 and 2 inches. The rock cracked one catalytic converter and dented the center resonator. After the cracked cat substrate clogged the exhaust, Benz wanted $8,300.00 to replace the broken parts, not including the muffler.

So, I got a custom designed exhaust system from BMS Racing in Denver Colorado. The new exhaust starts with two new very high flow, metalic substate graduated to ceramic substrate catalytic converters, into two maganaflow resonators (straight pipes), into a custom y pipe leading to a stainless turbine muffler. The system saves about 30 lbs from the stock system and adds 20 hp from 3,000 rpm to 5,000 rpm.

Details and pictures of this system can be found at:

The posts are entitled: C43 Stage I part I & part II.

After about 3,000 miles with this system on the car I find the sound to be a mean, low V8 growl (not stock but not annoying). It is definately louder at 1,750 to 2,000 rpm's but that can be easily avoided with downshifting.

The improvement in acceleration over 3,000 rpms and between 60mph and 120mph is incredible. I highly recomend this company -- see if they can build what you want.
