Iso W210 E55...
Hey all,
The time is coming near, where I wish to sell my W124 in favor of a W210 E55...I need some help deciding on what year is better to buy. I was thinking maybe a '99 where I could update the body kit to the newer styling. Are there any other tips on what to look for or avoid with the W210? My family has had W124, W208, W220 and an ML, so I am knowledgeable on those models much more so than the W210. Thanks for the help, maybe now I can post here with some authority!

I'll offer a little here....
The 1999 E55 has a few differences from the 2000-2002 E55. 1999 has different bodywork ("old school" vs. "new school"), steering wheel (without radio controls, etc.), and transmission gate (the 2000 and up have touch shift). Also, in 2000, MB started including scheduled maintenance in the purchase price of the car and (in 00 or 01) put turn blinkers on the rear-view mirrors. An E55 has no significant issues over any other 210. Do a search on W210 for any common issues amongst that model line. My buddy just picked up a '99 E55 (with 50K miles) and absolutely loves it. Good luck! |

In general....buy the newest model with the lowest mileage you can afford. |

Selling the car or the parts? When I buy the E55, I will be selling the W124. the only thing I will sell separately from the car would be the wheels. They are 18X8 ET35 Carlsson 2/6 Brilliant editions, I have only had them on the car for a month and a half...darn Canadian winters sneaking up on us...LOL
