Donnie- does that include the 3.07 in the "newer" "210.350.xx.xx" housing?

I know on the "129.351.xx.xx" housing you can upgrade to LSD by replacing (2) side-gears (140.353.08.15) and installing the dual-lining washers (129.353.11.62).

I just can't find the info on the USA MB EPC for the "210" type diffs.

Also, I realize that considerable labor and tooling is needed to do it right and get a QUIET diff.

LOL ... sounds like a used car salesman ... too funny. I know you are serious though - I just think it's funny to hear.

We don't weld them. We disassemble the diff and remove the carrier. Then disassemble the carrier. We machine down the two spiders that spline into the output shaft and install clutches on them. Then we fabricate a steel block that goes between the two spiders and houses springs that apply pressure to the spiders and thus the clutches. These springs are interchageable and can be replaced.

The whole unit can be ''repacked'' at any time.

PS...We don't sell junk..

We have drag raced this differential at 90% lock for over 40 passes so far. IT is hold well under severe use and 650hp.

You could have a custom Quaife unit built for over $4,000......

Benzmac,

So you can machine a C43 diff. and make it LSD. And how does the LSD work together with the Damn ESP?

Also if your in machining the diff. how much to change the ratios to a 3.46:1 or 3.65:1 or something like that?

Very interested in this for running roadracing track events.

Thanks,

Jeff

speedybenz, If MBZ thought LSD could get along with ESP it would be on it. Be carefull when you disable the ESP it is tied to the ASR and the transmission. I hope you suceed, you will create a real drivers car. S.

Donnie, it was a joke. I have never found any of your work to be junk.

You did mentioned previously that you raced welded diffs and a custom LSD too.

Donnie,

What would it cost to have you change my diff. to a 3.46:1 and add Limited Slip?

Car is a 1999, C43.

I am very interested in this as I posted before.

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm with Speedy! I'd love to put a limited slip diff. on my '99 C43. Apparently MKB in Germany makes a limited slip for the C43, if I remember correctly from my perusal of the Official AMG Owners Club and the MKB web site. I do not know what they do with the ASR 'though.

I have heard that one can disconect the ASR sensors at the rear wheels and be done with it. But, would doing that disable the ESP as well?

My ideal C43 would have ESP with a real off switch, a real limited slip diff. and no ASR. Can this be done Doc? (There seems to be a number of C43 owners very interested in perfoming these corrections to AMG's oversights with that car).

Thanks!

Would a 3.27 limited-slip be better for 1/4-mile and 1/8 mile acceleration runs vs. a 3.07 LSD on a C36?

My calculations show a 3.07 or 2.87 would be better since 1st and 2nd gear would go higher in speed.

We'll see at the drag strip . . .
