Hi, everyone. I really want to find out two things about my car. I have a 3.2 93 300E
I wanted to know if the computer is turnable.
I went to a motorsports shop around the Seattle are ( Car Nutz ) and one of the representive there said the Bosch motronic in the car are no rurnable, therefore no chips for the 300E.
I want to know if that is true.
If what the guys said wasn't right I would want to know who makes chips for the 300E.
Any trips or concerns will help

Do you have the individual Bosch #? The ignition module should have a specific code on it. Approx 9-10 characters long. I don't know about the 6's but the 8's usually start with 0280.xxx.xxx or 0260.xxx.xxx. If it is in the same spot as the 8's it is the 3rd module from the left.(in the black metal box that houses the computer modules) To my knowledge the 3.2 I6 was able to be tuned. Yours may be microprocessor rather than Eprom based...in which case it isn't as easy as just popping in a chip. You would have to send the "brain box" off to be reprogrammed or install an aftermarket computer module. If you can give me the Bosch # and the build date I will check around for you.
