R16 Resistor
i remember a post a while back about the R16 resistor on a 190e, and by taking it off you eliminated the advanced ignition timing that was put in place because of the US's lower octane gas. Does anybody know if this exists on a 93 400e? anybody else with a 400e tell me what i can do to get more power.

Something similar
There is a similar mod for the 400E/E420 that has been mentioned in several posts. I tried it and noticed absolutely zero difference in my 95 E420.
My theory is that the E420 engine management, because of its knock-sensing capability, always runs the engine at optimum advance. Could be wrong though. Troy 1995 E420 73k miles |
