Some fun S600 drag videos

Just found this board via a link. A "hot rod" mercedes section -- this is right up my alley

Some vids I've made over the past 8 months:

We're not in 11-12 second territory (yet) but there are some drag videos available for 300SEL 6.3s at www.300se.com and of E500-500Es (W124) at www.500ecstasy.com

Always happy to have fellow MB drag-race enthusiasts showing their stuff. Humbling the Viper boys -- that's amazing.

The owner of the 13-second 6.3 here in Portland, Dan Smith, is quite the legend now with the track officials. My E500 is not far behind.

Keep 'em coming!

Cheers,
Gerry

damn, your car moves! I see the renntech front wheels, I assume you have some renntech goodies under the hood to move like that. Stock S600 biturbo is 12.5 pretty consistantly.

Do you have drag tires on the back of the AMG wheels or are they just the standard Dunlop Sp9000 sports?

Its good that the supra and you had a 1 to 1 race, he would have been quite mad. The first one you got a really good jump on him, and he started catching up. The second one, he jumped really good at the start and it was more even. He probably did a higher rpm launch.

Thats great, mercedes is starting to make some really fun cars lately. I think they want to win against BMW because of the M3, M5, and Z8.

I would certainly say it works well.

Also, welcome to the board! I am sure that you will like it. Very useful for tech, etc.

edit: my post is above yours. Do you have your timezone set correctly under User CP?

Do you still have your stock brakes? I sent you an email about it.

I've heard about your car. Very nice.

If you want to get crazy with it....Let me know....We have been known to bend the rules with Mercedes!

We currently have the little C class doing the same times as yours with a slightly faster mph. I am working on getting the ET down now that I have the mph up.

We will see next spring.

Good stuff!

Thanks for sharing.

I didn't know the C55k hopped that much. Do you have special drag springs in it from Eibach?

Heh. I might just look into that. FWIW, with the current drag radials my S tops out 3rd gear right at the big end, which is why it's running consistent 118.4. With street tires the ETs are worse but it traps consistent 121 MPH when it hooks. I'm going to try to get some slightly larger-diameter DRs to improve the times.

It is funny that you say that about it topping out in 3rd when crossing the line. The C does the same thing so we are going to a lower diff to take advantage of 4th......We will see what happens.

BTW...Our C improved MPH and ET with the Slicks. Also, the suspension is STOCK. We even left in the anti-sway bar.

That car must be a riot to drive. Did you get the idea from me from a while back when I told you I wanted a C43, and a crashed E55, and then the Kleemaan compressor? I love it, now that you have almost perfected it, when the time comes you will know how to do it to my car with both hands tied behind your back blind folded. May I ask, how much was the E55 motor and the Kompressor + install.

I loved the C55 in germany, I have to have one someday.

I always wanted to build a 55 C class since it wasn't offered here. When we became a Kleemann dealer, It was a no brainer.

So, I found the right customer and off we went.

The swap isn't that hard, but the programming is. We have some custom software that we perfected for this.
