misleadding info about # of 500E500's manufactured
I have a pet peeve - it's the misinformation, in ads, that give the number of 500E500s that were imported to the US as the number which were actually manufactured. As most of us know, there were almost 10,000 124.036's made, while a very small number were imported to the US, just a few over a thousand, I believe.
I accept that used car dealers will say anything, but it irks me to see these figures bandied about on this site by private sellers. Just my opinion. Tom 92 500E |

I hope this works
http://www.mbusa.com/brand/container.jsp?/overview/overview_engine.jsp?spec=6&subNav=overview&yearModelCode=88_E500SS&class=88_E&rnav=0124568&menu=2_1 Model Year U.S. Sales Original Retail Price 1992 633 $79,200 1993 498 $80,000 1994 374 $80,800 Body Style 124. Introduced as 500E to U.S. Fall 1991. Facelifted and name changed to E500 Sport Sedan Fall 1993. http://www.mbusa.com/brand/container.jsp?/overview/index.jsp?persist=false Maybe that will clear up a few things. So that adds up to 1505 500e/e500s for the US sales market. I am sure some have been imported as well.

That sort of thing happens with the 2.3-16 as well. I've often seen ads that describe the car as "1 of only 700" whislt neglecting to mention that it's only 700 units in US spec and for that one model year.
i doubt it'll stop either.
