The stock rotors on my new 300E (51,000 miles) are ready for replacement, and I am considering Lee's suggestion to convert to the 93+ 400E brakes. Besides the obvious change of rotors and calipers (and use of stainless steel/teflon lines???) are any other parts required? For instance, is the master cylinder up to the job, do the ABS and proportioning valve need adjustments, are the 300E main brake lines the right diameter, and do the sensors need changing?
I notice that Becker's big brake upgrade just lists calipers/pads/rotors in their upgrade kit, but am reluctant to extrapolate that into a simple rotor/caliper swap without more information. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

By the way, great site, but in trying to register it asks for my ICQ number. What is this number?

As far as I know, the Bekker's upgrade is simply a rotor/caliper swap (this kit needs 16" wheels, though). Incidentally, I've been satisfied with the performance of the stock system on my 300E (even when driving/braking aggressively), which I attribute at least partially to the lighter weight of my earlier model ('86) - I imagine your '87 has the same curb weight. Most importantly, buy OE quality parts. My recent switch to Brembo rotors seems to be working well so far.

As for registering on the site, you don't have to enter an ICQ number. ICQ is a freeware program that allows live chat online and the ability to "call" another user online. Check www.mirabilis.com for more info.
