1994 E500
I am looking at a 1994 E500. 95,000 miles, the current owner, who has had it for the last 5 1/2 years and 50,000 miles has had no problems, other than oil, brakes, and ragular maintnence. That concers me, not because I think he is dis-honest, but because of the other things that seem to fail on these cars. How much do you expect that I would have to spend in the near future on this car? What do you expect to fail? When I look at the car, I am going to try to get the service records, is there anything else that I am missing. Your input is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance,

depending on how well/poorly the car has been maintained, you can expect to have to replace the timing chain and rear suspension bushings around the 100k to 150k mile mark.
The timing chain is a fairly expensive proposition as the chain is 6+ feet long and you have to take the front of the engine apart to get to it. The rear suspension bushings can also be pricey as you could have to replace all of them.
