I am thinking about get a set of new wheels, but have no idea what's the bolt pattern....thnx in advance.....

I know I will soon sound like a broken record on this note but....give TireRack a look. http://www.tirerack.com In addition to big selection, cool website, yadda yadda they have a nice little Macromedia/Shockwave program called "Wheelrack". Even if the download is a bit slow it is WELL worth it. It lets you see exactly what all the wheels that will fit your specific year/model/color car will look like. Even if you don't buy from them, it can really help with finding out what looks great or not so great on your car. I've ordered a set of wheels/tires from them before. Everything arrived mounted/balanced/etc with all necessary hardware. (needed different lug nuts) Considering how expensive buying all new lugs (Search Shop Forum thread regarding lug bolt cost.) can be, it is a big additional cost saver. I bolted the new wheels/tires onto the 400E with no problem at all. No special tools are required, in fact, all you need is the jack and tools in the trunk of your car. A jackstand is a good safety precaution though. If you really want to be picky you can use a torque wrench when putting the new wheels on. (110lb-ft on a W140 if memory serves...just tighten in the "star" pattern. If you are ordering wheels and tires at the same time (pretty much a given when ordering Plus 1 or 2 wheel fittments) it is really hard to beat their pricing/your total out of pocket cost. I've run the numbers, shipping on the stuff is a fraction of tax. They take care of all the offset, fender clearance, etc questions/problems for you. Their sales/support team is great on the phone, a bit slow on email. (but then again not everyone can be up to MercedesShop standards! j/k)

Ooops...almost forgot. If your old wheels are suffering, then Rennsport (see various banner ads on this site) can revive them quite nicely. (and much less expensive than new wheels) I may have to give Robb Rice a call about the 500E's wheels...the previous owner was not as meticulous about cleaning inside the holes of the "8-holes" as I would of preferred... Rennsport is certainly something to consider if you just plan on replacing what you had. If your getting a "plus 1" or want the look of something different then Tirerack is probably the better choice.
