KKK K24 turbo good for 190e 16V ?

Ok I've decided to turbocharge the 16v. My goal is 260 -280 fwhp at around 0.5 -0.7 bars. I was considering getting a t3/t4 turbocharger but one of my friends has a Audi 200 Quattro turbo (3B engine) parts car and has offered to give me the turbocharger. It's a KKK K24 with external wastegate. I've read that this turbocharger is good for around 300hp. Having very little info on the KKK turbos I'm wondering if this one will suit my needs.

P.S. I found this compressor map for the K24 turbocharger

Joreto,

I don't know if I can help you much, but I'm curious about your turbo project. I drive a W201 190D 2.2, so I'm a 201 fan.

Could you elaborate more on your plan? What type of injection system does the 16V engine have? You'll need some way to get more fuel into the engine (boost enrichment). For EFI engines and lower boost levels, this is usually done by increasing the fuel rail pressure. For higher boost levels, you need additional injectors and usually a boost ignition retard box. For even higher boost levels, you usually need to lower the compression ratio.

You need a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. You can get that and the bypass valve and hose from the Audi. Since your car has no knock sensor, you will need to go easy on the boost. Anything past 14 psi will require additional fuel which can be done with a cold start injector and a pressure switch.

See Gus Mahone's site. RIP Gus, he was killed in a motorcycle accident recently.

73MB280SEL, the 16v has the CIS-E (ke-jetronic) system. My plan is to remove the CIS-E and install a standalone injection system, currently I'm considering the MegaSquirt for fuel managment and MSD for ignition. Lowering the compression is the second thing that I'm considering (9.0:1 or 8.5:1). The plan for the turbo (have my eye on a T04-S or a t3/t4 hybrid)is to run about 0.5 - 0.7 bar of boost (start with 0.5 than if everything is ok rise it to 0.7).

wbain5280, I not sure that only with the rising rate fuel pressure regulator you'll be able to supply enough fuel....but I may be wrong.

You need a RRFPR to supply fuel under boost. BOSCH makes them, had it on my Volvo 740T.

You can keep the compresion ration high if you use a Light Pressure Turbo, 5 - 6 psi. Use the lower compression ratio for higher boost levels.
