Thumbs up April issue of 'Mercedes Enthusiast'

Check it out...our friend Mark (new2mercedes) has his 500E on the cover and a nice feature comparing it to the 400E.

Pretty cool stuff. You ROCK Mark !!

I have that issue and I've been reading it over and over...

Makes me jealous all the time though hehe.

The 400E looks so narrow compared to the buff 500E!

scan of the article ?

Hi,
We can't get the M.E. edition over here. Do you think it would be possible for one of you to scan it and post it there ?
Thank you
Alexis

Here in CT, both Barnes & Noble and Borders carry it but only a few issues every month it seems like....I seem to have got the last one at one store and it looks like the sample that everyone read.

I have no scanning abilities unfortunately. I did speak with Mark...he was going to/should buy up all the copies he can find...maybe if you ask him Alexis he'll send one to you in France.

BN is holding.

Receptionist said pictures of convertibles on the April cover? Is this the right issue?

That's the one. It's an extra-large issue focused on converts. The W124 V8 story (by Reed Hitchcock, who used to be and might still be a member here) is also there.

I just picked up the last copy at our local Barnes and Nobles! For those looking it has a yellow cover with Mercedes written in red.

a great article

Its great. A tech @ work had it friday. I read the break down and comparison. Looks like it was done somewhere back east. There show a close up shot of the 5 driving down the highway. But its no where close to a poster boy. They should of used Af's car for that photo session . The car in the photo, the bottom air dam all pittied, LF headlight wiper harm misaligned. But otherewise a great write up. Thats what I like about ME mag. It pretty much deals with the older chasis, and even mercedes motorsports

Still a member here...

I like Mark's car a lot.. You'll notice that in some pictures the headlight wiper has been corrected. What can I say - we like to show the cars in a "real world" scenario... Up close, his truly is a show car, rarely driven, and has won the local club trophy at least once, but I think more..

The best part of writing this piece was that I enjoyed it so much, that I am now the proud owner of a 1994 E420. What a great car! I just don't have the cash to get a nice E500E, and wouldn't want to use one as a daily driver anyway, but the 420 is ideal for my use. After a slew of mediocre cars, it's nice to be back behind the star again. Now I just need some bigger wheels and a 2.82 rear diff......

Thanks Reed. Can't wait to see your new addition, a 420 hmmm any significance there? I'll drop you a line tomorrow and catch up.

BTW...Never claimed to have a "poster boy" for a car but what you are seeing is salt spray from the shoot which happens to us folks on the right coast.

This is the Brit mag, right? My local Borders, as of Sunday, was still selling March issue.
Thy have always been 124, 500E500 friendly. Great cover story a few years back. I remember reading the article on the plane to Memphis, where I was picking up my beloved 500E. what great trip back (Nevada roads!)
