Starting a 16V

Well, the manual says you should push down the gas when starting the 190E-16. I must say, she's a bit if a bear to start... Is it the valves? A weak starter motor, but she doesn't start up very nice... Any suggestions?

I dont see why holding the pedal down would help at all consider the car is fuel injected. My 16vlv had a lot of problems starting, you'd have to crank it for a good while, but I recently replaced the seals between the intake manifold and injector seats. This replacement helped a lot as far as starting goes it fires right up now.

So I suggest you start looking for vacuum leaks.
