straighten something out for me.

If you have a complete m104 car as a donor, can I swap the m104 drivetrain into my m103 car?

I think I have to find a single mass from the 2.6, but bolt patterns are common on all the stuff so, in the end it will likely be the Bekkers beefed 16V clutch components and a custom single mass flywheel, unless I actually find a single mass but even then it would be temporary. Unless the dual mass works, then it will be temporary.

And yes, the crank trigger is going on the front of the crank.

300sl m104 CIS motor mated to a 16v tranny in a w201
we ended up having to buy a single mass flywheel from a pre 90 2.6 5-speed 190e, as the 16v trans expects a single mass flywheel, not a dual. Now what to do with this 717.432 tranny and dual mass flywheel i have laying around...

Well its back in the car after I had it sent to them to be rebuilt. Turn around time about ten days. After discussing it it appears shop that installed it didnt flush the trans cooler. So not adsit fault. It shifts slightly early now but wow wow it is truly a different car now. I feel power bands I never felt before. Mustve been a lot of resistance in the trans before. It shifts really smooth now as well, like butter. So no complaints with adsit at all. Well a minor minor one, when I first sent it they said i didnt include torque conveter but penalized me only minorly financially so really it was just my feelings that got hurt. lol So all in all I give an A to Adsit as businesses go. As mechanics/shops go? A+
This says a lot b/c Im pretty nit picky generally. Unfortunately I cant say the same for the shop that installed the trans for me. Ekg in San Antonio. I totally interecepted a scam in the making. Im making a thread in the shops forum.

peace. good luck.

Somebody finally convert this car! Someone has to own a shop and want to putz around with thi! : )

Ok sorry but bear with me. You put a 16v? 16 valve? tranny w a 201?

Whats a 16v and whats a 201?
What engine is that?
Exhaust/intake mod?

I take it your swap makes it a standard?

haha woww. if you dont know any of those terms you might want to do some research before you go and try to do a 5-speed swap. The w201 is the chassis number of the 190 series. Just like R129 is the chassis number of the SL series. The m102, m103, and m104 gas engines along with the OM601, OM602, OM603, OM605, and OM606 diesel engines all have the same bellhousing, and will accept the same trannys. The 16v is a type of 190. Google it. It usually came with a 5-speed transmission, so that is what i am talking about. My brothers car was already a 5-speed. But to do the swap on an auto, you need the following parts:
tranny
drive shaft
pedal assembly
flywheel/clutch
pilot bearing
shifter assembly + linkages
