Hi fellas,

I have a W124 300CE with stock exhaust. Just got my hands on an AMG exhaust. Before installation, I would like to get the feedback from you guys on whether I should get rid of the resonator as well and fit a Y-pipe at the same time.

I was just thinking of just replacing the stock muffler with the AMG Exhaust.... but some folks have said removing the resonator and in its place, a Y-pipe, is the way to go...

Just wanna make sure that it doesn't get too loud. Anyone knows whats best? Thanks.

r-1 racing muffler, y-pipe, intake. tell me what you think. total cost is maybe 210 dollars including labor and parts. some people may think its too loud, but i love it

I replaced my center muffler with a Y pipe about 6 months ago, during a complete SS exhaust replacement.

Didnt notice a sound increase, and dont think its louder than the original exhaust was.

Not sure of any preformance upgrade, as I dont drive the car hard enuf to notice.

Its a 124, 300CE, 24v. Let me know if I can help in any way.
